After a crazily cold night, I felt like getting out into the garden and try to warm-up, but the market garden was much to wet to be able to do anything in without destroying the lovely soil structure. Vanessa’s Potato and Turnip Gratin. 8211; 1 garlic clove (cut in half). 8211; 4 medium potatoes (peeled). 8211; 4 medium turnips (peeled). 8211; melting cheese (I used Australian Edam). 8211; salt and pepper. 1 Pre-heat the oven to 180C. 2 Slice the potatoes and turnips as thinly as possible, and grate about a cup full of cheese. 4 The quantities depend on your taste, you could go crazy with the cream, or use a little like I did.
