Associate Professor Kevin McCracken is, for now, leading Life Science Informatics (LSI) as Acting Director, Shawn Houston, LSI's Technical Lead, is leaving to pursue opportunities elsewhere, and the Arctic Region Supercomputing Center is filling some of the void left with Shawn's departure. A new Bioinformatics Lead is being sought as LSI moves into the future. These changes are part of progress, and LSI will be stronger in the end. UAF is an AA/EO employer and educational institution.

Software Developed by Life Science Informatics. A portal project to produce a web based front end to a compute resource, such as a cluster, using PHP, mysql, and apache. The intent is to allow non-programmers to use complex programs through an intuitive interface. A language and language translator to Systems Biology Markup Language (SBML) that generates synthetic microarray data conforming to some known properties of such data. UAF is an AA/EO employer and educational institution.
