Craft Conversations: Bread tag art
http://craftconversations.blogspot.com/2012/10/bread-tag-art.html
Wednesday, October 10, 2012. I'm not the only fan of recycling bread tags as you will see shortly. First a pic of my bread tag emu -. I used only white bread tags on a background, with black tissue paper on a piece of card; from that I cut out my emu running shape and placed over the tags. Craft Conversations: Op Shop find
http://craftconversations.blogspot.com/2014/05/op-shop-find.html
Monday, May 26, 2014. I found this great little circle yesterday in an Op Shop. That I hadn't visited before, at Tea Tree Plus. The shop is enormous, everything classified, packed and labelled. It seems to be a chain of stores that supports a number of non-profit organisations. I've put a link in above so you can see what it is about. This circle seems to be mini tree trunk rings glued to a base. Couldn't resist it because it was so interesting to look at. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Madder is th...

Craft Conversations: Adelaide Rosella
http://craftconversations.blogspot.com/2015/07/adelaide-rosella.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. The Adelaide Rosella is a local hybrid of the Yellow and Crimson Rosella. Recently I started to spend more time on developing my skills in machine embroidery. This is because arthritis prevents me from hand embroidery now. So I decided to extend myself into this area, which I had previously touched on but nothing further. I bought a book by Carol Shinn called. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Photography Art in Nature. Click here to reach my photography blog. Birds - White Ibis.

Craft Conversations: Another Tuesday post
http://craftconversations.blogspot.com/2012/10/another-tuesday-post.html
Tuesday, October 9, 2012. David the (possible) Goliath Stick Insect. A bit more on my visit to the Adelaide Zoo - I'm not absolutely sure (there was no sign on it) but I think this is a Goliath. Stick Insect. It was certainly big enough, about 20cm/8" long. Quite fascinating. I gave him a name which was a bit obvious but he is rather cute. Just some of a large quantity of dyed paper. I used Procion dyes which I get from Kraftkolour. October 9, 2012 at 4:46 PM. Are they destined for more books? This tabby...

Craft Conversations: Computer glitch ...
http://craftconversations.blogspot.com/2010/05/computer-glitch.html
Saturday, May 15, 2010. Just a note to say I can't update this blog right now, as my computer "crashed" and although most programs are fine, all the data I have entered has disappeared. Fortunately I tend to back up fairly frequently on CDs or USB so I don't have too much to update, but must do it straight away! Keep sewing (or reading about it). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Craft Conversations: Experimenting with Tyvek
http://craftconversations.blogspot.com/2012/01/experimenting-with-tyvek.html
Thursday, January 12, 2012. My latest experimenting is with bead making - I love making beads from fabric, and now I have bought a heat gun I can have even more fun. I started with some leftover sheer fabrics, synthetic organza and so on, and this is the result. The heat gun shrivels up the synthetic fabric creating interesting effects. September 28, 2012 at 7:03 PM. Hi Christine, so lovely to meet you today at Inkpot. These beads are wonderful! September 30, 2012 at 5:05 PM. Photography Art in Nature.

Craft Conversations: Sea Urchin
http://craftconversations.blogspot.com/2014/05/sea-urchin.html
Monday, May 26, 2014. Experimenting with some coiling using red raffia, and stitching it with tapestry wool from the Op Shop, I think in a shade called dusky rose. My experiment was with shaping, and I made a sea urchin; I have found some lovely sea urchin shells down at Corny Point on the Yorke Peninsula, many years ago. Sea urchin made with raffia and wool. Craft Conversations: Fabric Painting and Beyond
http://craftconversations.blogspot.com/2011/04/fabric-painting-and-beyond.html
Saturday, April 2, 2011. Fabric Painting and Beyond. Since my last entry I have been having the time of my life, learning new techniques, working on a project for my Dyeing Unit - pix will appear when it's finished. The photo I uploaded last time has a successor - after we talked in class about stitching into our fabric painting, I made another with my daisies more daisy-like by stitching on it. Next week we start "Embellishment" - lots more fun - now I understand why people study textile arts. Madder is...
