On the wall at the school where I learned. It didn't have a fancy name, this school. Like 'tactical depopulation training'. We called it what it was. Then they sent me here. Kill one man, terrorise a thousand". He smiled when he read the sign to me. My scores were good. He told me he was proud of me. I see him now still tapping that sign.

Cyclone Larry : The Aftermath. Tuesday, March 28, 2006. CYCLONE MIRANDA COPS A SERVE FROM THE PEOPLE OF NORTH QUEENSLAND OVER HER DISGUSTING 'STOP THE WHINGEING' COLUMN. We don't want to give that dim bulb Miranda Devine any more publicity for her vile-spew at the cyclone-shattered people of Innisfail (in the Sydney Sun Herald last weekend), but the reaction from people in North Queensland has been strong and bloody passionate, and they deserve to have their voices heard here. They'd just been through he...

Cyclone Larry : The Aftermath. Wednesday, March 29, 2006. MORE MONEY IN INCREASED AID PACKAGE HEADING FOR THE 'LARRIED'. On a few days after Prime Minister John Howard announced the $100 million Cyclone Larry relief package, word gets out the cash payouts are to be raised substantially. There was plenty of criticism that the figures cited for relief would not be enough, and the local federal member for the affected region, Bob Katter, raised it in Canberra during question time on Monday afternoon. Cyclone Larry : The Aftermath. Wednesday, March 29, 2006. ENOUGH WITH THE OFFICIAL VISITS, SAY LOCALS. Former Defence Force chief General Peter Cosgrove liked Innisfail so much when he visited, he decided to stay. Well, that's not quite true, he's heading up the recovery team and thought it would be best if he was close by at all times. The locals don't seem to mind that he's stayed, but they're getting weary of all the others popping in, with media in tow, to "share the pain". Posted by Darryl Mason.
