The next steps in our adoption of our daughter from China. After 5 years waiting, wishing, hoping, and getting on with life as well as possible, we finally received the referral for our daughter, Beatrice (no significance in the name, we just liked it, and decided to saddle her with an old-fashioned, longer-than-she’d-probably-like moniker). To make things easier, and because she’s so stinking cute, we settled on the nickname Birdie. She is 10 months old, and hopefully has some hair and a few teeth by now.

These last few days have been filled with digestive issues, traveling, settling into a new city, and making sure we have all of our paperwork completed so that we can exit China and head back to the states with no static or barriers. 8221; She’s still teething some, and drools like a fiend, but a little drool never hurt anyone. The next steps in our adoption of our daughter from China. Ni hao from Hong Kong! We made it safe and sound to Hong Kong after a long 15 hour flight over Canada, the North Pole, and Russia. We watched a lot of movies (thank God for technology) and drank as much water as they were willing to share. Tough on the knees and booty, but bearable knowing our girl is coming home with us!
