Igloo Dreams: January 2012
http://igloodreams.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
The completely unofficial blog about the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Game #51 - at Toronto Maple Leafs. Pittsburgh Penguins (29-17-4, 62 points) at Toronto Maple Leafs (25-19-6, 56 points). With two goals in the previous game, Grabovski is moving dangerously close to "Penguin Killer" territory. Why does it matter? What has been happening lately? Eight wins in a row, but you can't count on the third period comebacks very often at all. Questions to be answered. Will we see a fast start?

Igloo Dreams: Flyers 4, Penguins 3 (OT)
http://igloodreams.blogspot.com/2012/04/flyers-4-penguins-3-ot.html
The completely unofficial blog about the Pittsburgh Penguins. Thursday, April 12, 2012. Flyers 4, Penguins 3 (OT). Inconsistency has been the hallmark of this team in over the past month. That was the defining characteristic again last night. The first period was excellent. After that, things were not so good. I won't even talk about the OT. When they do, they put themselves in a great spot to win games. When they don't, like last night, things don't go well. Labels: 11-12 Game Review. Contact me at iglo...

Igloo Dreams: 2012 Free Agency Day 1 Roundup
http://igloodreams.blogspot.com/2012/07/2012-free-agency-day-1-roundup.html
The completely unofficial blog about the Pittsburgh Penguins. Sunday, July 01, 2012. 2012 Free Agency Day 1 Roundup. The Pens didn't make a big splash on the first day of free agency this year. Neither Ryan Suter or Zach Parise made a decision on where they would go, though Parise is supposedly going to make a decision tomorrow. There were a few smaller moves, the biggest of them being the signing of Tanner Glass. Riley Holzapfel is just 23, but he has logged four seasons in the AHL since being a second ...

Igloo Dreams: Not Dead Yet!
http://igloodreams.blogspot.com/2013/01/not-dead-yet.html
The completely unofficial blog about the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tuesday, January 15, 2013. I haven't put anything up here in quite some time. During the lockout, I was honestly thinking I was done with the NHL. Millionaires versus billionaires. No one seemed to care about anything but squeezing the other side for as much as humanly possible, just because they could. I couldn't have cared less. Damn you, hockey - I'd have far more free time if you didn't suck me back in! The title of the post says it all.

Cocktails With the Penguins: October 2010
http://cocktailswiththepens.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 16, 2010. The Pittsburgh Penguins finally won their first game at the Consol Energy Center last night! Really, that's the important thing. Alex Goligoski's game-winning goal in overtime broke the Consol Curse, *and* he did it in the cursed blue uniform! On the power play, even! The measurements are weird for a reason. I want to stress that this will make 2 servings. A tablet of Mexican chocolate usually makes 4. I mixed in 2 ounces espresso-flavored vodka, but as I said, I a...Heat 2 cu...

Cocktails With the Penguins: April 2011
http://cocktailswiththepens.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Adios Motherfucker, Redux. I'd love to be welcoming Sidney Crosby back with a peanut-butter-and-jelly shooter, but that's most likely not going to happen. We don't get Matt Cooke back unless the Penguins go to the second round, and Evgeni Malkin is still on the mend. So. Our boys need to use the forces they have. We've seen them do it for months now, to much better effect than they have the past two games. 1/2 oz light rum. 1/2 oz silver tequila. 1/2 oz blue curacao liqueur.

Cocktails With the Penguins: September 2011
http://cocktailswiththepens.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 21, 2011. First Taste of Hockey. I haven't done much here at Cocktails with the Penguins, or my personal blog either, this summer. I've been busy, and Twitter has absorbed most of my words. Also, it's been one hell of a depressing offseason. But we have hockey tonight! I came up with a drink involving late summer/early autumn fruit that tastes as good as preseason hockey feels. Get out the blender! First Taste of Hockey. Half a black or red plum. 4 ounces peach cider. Pittsburgh Spor...

Cocktails With the Penguins: March 2011
http://cocktailswiththepens.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 24, 2011. Recipes for cocktails called the Detroit Red Wing. Exist I believe I invented something that can fairly be called the San Jose Shark a couple weeks ago. (Like other people, I got inspired by the teal color of their uniforms. I won't post it until later, if at all.) When I decided to share the San Jose Shark on Twitter. I felt kinda bad that I'd never gotten around to creating something worth calling the Pittsburgh Penguin. So, finally, *the* Pittsburgh Penguin cocktail! Should a...

Cocktails With the Penguins: August 2010
http://cocktailswiththepens.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 29, 2010. The Penguins are coming back! So I decided to organize my blog a little bit better, update my links list, and finally make my logo grammatically correct. If you think I should link to your blog or someone else's, please let me know. The roster's not completely set yet, but there will be some changes. We say goodbye to several players, with varying degrees of enthusiasm: Mark Eaton, Sergei Gonchar, Bill Guerin (okay, I keened over him for a day on my Twitter account. 1 cup honeyde...
