Birthing Utopia: Shutting the door on Post Partum Mood Disorder
http://birthingutopia.blogspot.com/2012/05/shutting-door-on-post-partum-mood.html
Thursday, May 3, 2012. Shutting the door on Post Partum Mood Disorder. Not many people know my unique situation with mood disorders. Or maybe you do. I still remember the first time I was told by a man that I was psycho, and the situation that came from. Instability in life seems to create instability in mood, and perhaps choices in who we surround with our love. Maybe I wasn't thinking clearly when I matched myself with an overweight and depressed man? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). How will I know...
Birthing Utopia: Changing Infant Feeding Paradigms
http://birthingutopia.blogspot.com/2013/04/changing-infant-feeding-paradigms.html
Monday, April 15, 2013. Changing Infant Feeding Paradigms. Surges throughout history waxed and waned - the church, of course, had opinions on breasts and dictated how newborns were fed. The world's rich and famous have always had opinions of their own on how to rear children. As have medical professionals. Even today - if you ask around - the opinions are loud and proud. One would expect that these surges and trends will continue through the eons. Having a close connection with women and their stories ha...
Birthing Utopia: Changing Infant Paradigms (part 2)
http://birthingutopia.blogspot.com/2013/08/changing-infant-paradigms-part-2.html
Monday, August 19, 2013. Changing Infant Paradigms (part 2). Now that you have examined and thought and pondered over the basics of how praxis is developed, how about examining a new thought on practice. That is an appropriate question). Depending on praxis, and maybe even personal bias, she may see the newborn in an isolette with tubes and lines. We are all shaped by praxis, to evolve our practice. I had no effing clue what the implications would be. Lucky for me, nursing pairs may have figured it o...
Birthing Utopia: A year spent entrenched in birth
http://birthingutopia.blogspot.com/2012/06/year-spent-entrenched-in-birth.html
Monday, June 4, 2012. A year spent entrenched in birth. Let the hippies have their lotus birth, but produce some great products to allow that to happen? I see a whole line of high quality dolls coming along and watch these women fight over a $400 stuffed toy, would they do the same if they could jump the line and hire their own midwife? To my family, for making it possible to spend the time learning, and digesting the year. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). All About Birthing Utopia. Where do I start?
Birthing Utopia: Time Magazine celebrates Mothering
http://birthingutopia.blogspot.com/2012/05/time-magazine-celebrates-mothering.html
Friday, May 11, 2012. Time Magazine celebrates Mothering. Or was it a social norm? I think it was probably both - formula was always expensive, and WalMart didn't exist. Would they have wet-nursed another baby for a neighbor or relative? As much as I say I like to party, I spend the entire time out talking about my children or my work, and usually talking about work difficulties usually links directly back to my kids! N is for Nurse: Still blogging at scrubs magazine...
http://nursesomeday.blogspot.com/2009/09/still-blogging-at-scrubs-magazine.html
N is for Nurse. Still blogging at scrubs magazine. The other day at work, during a particularly bad hemorrhage in the OR, I went to open a package of laps and then “throw” them on the table, when I overshot my mark completely and instead hit one of the docs in the head. Why would I do something like this? I’m going to blame it on adrenaline–or as we medical folks like to call it–the lovely hormone epinephrine. Great story at the beginning! FunnyYou are such a great writer. N is for Nurse is:. 10 cm and B...

N is for Nurse: yelling docs
http://nursesomeday.blogspot.com/2009/10/yelling.html
N is for Nurse. Witnessed my first screaming match between a doctor and nurse on one of my last shifts. The doc called a non-emergent c-section while another woman was beginning to push. Doc wanted the woman to stop pushing. Until the section was done. Nurse said No- and things escalated from there. 15 mins of fighting that we could all here- some done in front of the patient. I have never gotten into a yelling. Match w/ a doc. What in the world? The private world of L&D? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Ato...
Is thinking about birth. | Knotty Rhonda - year of the hammock.
http://knottyrhonda.blogspot.com/2009/12/is-thinking-about-birth.html
Knotty Rhonda - year of the hammock. Life I'm far from perfect. December 03, 2009. Is thinking about birth. In a different context. I don't want to give birth at the moment, but I really want to put it into perspective. Where do my allegiances lie (my utterly honest, brutal, but unbridled) and where does my actual reality live? Gotta make a choice, one of these days, because I'm getting really, really frustrated with myself for not making a whole hearted effort to make a final decision. In a sense, I'm g...

http://knottyrhonda.blogspot.com/2009/11/im-not-unhappy.html
Knotty Rhonda - year of the hammock. Life I'm far from perfect. November 24, 2009. Should I get more smallish jobs which backfire and hit me with evil amounts of hours? What about working on some of the courses and certification things I've started, which involves lots of research, reading, making media like webpages/handouts/photos etc. but then that means that there is a fight over who gets the computer. Then I have to rid myself of the baby suckling at me in order to type with two hands. N is for Nurse.

http://knottyrhonda.blogspot.com/2010/01/fresh-start.html
Knotty Rhonda - year of the hammock. Life I'm far from perfect. January 16, 2010. I changed the background, and figured that it was time to announce that it's now 2010, and my year is about to make a drastic change. From a clinical nurse, to a desk-sitting government employee. But it will free up more time to volunteer and do random stuffs. Here are my highlights of working with donors:. 1 Watching people have no clue where a temperature gauge goes. 4 When they say they really like our new uniforms.

Knotty Rhonda - year of the hammock. Life I'm far from perfect. November 28, 2009. The month of November is rapidly ending, and I have a few FAQ-U's to say to this month:. 1 Changing child care providers, FAKING sucks. 2 Picking and choosing which bills are going to collection to pay off first, FECK that's horrible. 3 Contemplating canceling the holidays - meh. I've been wanting to do that for a while. 4 F K I hate the weather changing and the dark days/nights. 9 Faq-u to looking for work. I got a job!
