Serving with MAF in Timor-Leste. Preparing to go home…. Asymp; 3 Comments. At long last after six weeks here in Gove, it is hopefully time to go home later this week. The plan for the moment is Friday! So, with just four sleeps to go, we are getting ready! Getting ready with supplies…. Getting ready by finishing off life in Gove…. Getting ready mentally…. I am trying to prepare myself mentally for heading home too…. You see, when i think about our Elcho home images like these below fill my mind. This fri...

Serving with MAF in Timor-Leste. Asymp; Leave a comment. You know you have a good job when you look forward to holidays and look forward to coming home. We just had a two week break initiated by Kim being invited to speak at an AMT (Australian Missionary Tidings – the Brethren Assembly missionary sending organisation) conference. So let’s turn our trip to civilisation into a little holiday. Ahh, I can relax now that holidays are over🙂. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter ...

Cyclone Nathan Update | The Job Family
https://thejobfamily.wordpress.com/2015/03/24/cyclone-nathan-update
Serving with MAF in Timor-Leste. Asymp; 1 Comment. Thanks again for your prayers and encouragement while Cyclone Nathan was in the area. Cyclone Nathan passed over Nhulunbuy appearing like a bad Melbourne storm. Lots of wind, but not a lot of rain. But ever since then it has rained non stop, day and night. Planes have been unable to fly since Saturday. Thanks for your prayers and support in this time. Jason, Kim and Sam. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Thought on “Cyclone Nathan Update”. Post cyclone weather. Too wet to fly. During the calmer stages of Cyclone Nathan. Passing the time indoors during the cyclone. A jigsaw puzzle. Great solution to all the waiting during Cyclone Nathan. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Thoughts on “Cyclone Nathan In Pictures”. March 24, 2015 at 11:39 pm. Canterbu...

It goes BANG in the night. | The Job Family
https://thejobfamily.wordpress.com/2015/07/09/it-goes-bang-in-the-night
Serving with MAF in Timor-Leste. It goes BANG in the night. Asymp; 3 Comments. We open our eyes and wait, is this a noise worth getting out of bed for? Jason jumps out of bed, grabs some clothes and his high powered torch, to see what is causing that banging noise. He looks around, inside, outside, Sam is still sleeping soundly, back to bed no wiser about caused the noise, but reassured that all is well in our house and home. Get off the car! More bangs as she jumps down to find another place to sleep.

TCK Sam | The Job Family
https://thejobfamily.wordpress.com/2015/08/08/tck-sam
Serving with MAF in Timor-Leste. Asymp; 1 Comment. Ever heard the phrase TCK? It was something i’ve known about for a few years, but i’ve suddenly realised that i am parenting one! A third culture kid is a person who has spent a significant part of his or her developmental years outside their parents’ culture. So Sam is a TCK as he lives and grows within the Yolgnu or indigenous culture of Arnhem Land, a culture that is different to what Jason and i grew up within. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. In a ...
