What's Next?: Saturday Fun
http://snowplug.blogspot.com/2015/08/saturday-fun.html
Saturday, August 1, 2015. An active day today! Up early this morning, but not 3:00 am run-time early! A nice 64 degrees, sunny, blue skies and not as humid. Ah! After lunch, we headed out to Georgetown, stopping at the Josephine Newman Sanctuary. For a hike. It was sunny and in the low 80s so despite the mellow pace, there was a fair amount of sweating, not to mention the mosquitos must have all decided to gather together for a reunion out in he woods because it was darn buggy out there! What's Next?: June 2015
http://snowplug.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 27, 2015. Beautiful Day for the Beach. We headed up to Reid State Park this morning for a fun day at the beach. It was gorgeous- blue sky, a breeze and cool temps. Of course, the water was freezing and I didn't hide the snacks well enough, so the seagulls literally made off with most of them, but otherwise a beautiful Maine day at the beach! Wading in the lagoon. Getting my feet buried. Happy kid on the beach. We walked down the whole beach so then the trick was to get her back. Anyway, I ...

What's Next?: The Other Brad and Two Years
http://snowplug.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-other-brad-and-two-years.html
Saturday, July 25, 2015. The Other Brad and Two Years. Enough to drive me batty! OK, I was going to have to figure out some sort of alternate route. Since I didn't want to wander aimlessly, I figured I'd just take the wider trail up to the top of the singletrack, cutting off a fair portion of the route, and one of my more favorite sections but not at this time of year! I stopped and managed to pay for a parking pass before heading back out for loop #3. After much gnashing of teeth, I did manage to turn t...

Reflections on the running world: globally, locally, and in between. March 14, 2015. The Heat Is On In, and For, L.A. If you’re a baseball fan, Spring Training is merely a platter of crudités to hold you until the real feast of the regular season begins next month. If college hoops is your preference, you’re still a week away from your TV watching smorgasbord of the opening rounds of March Madness, which will culminate in the Final Four crescendo just about the time of baseball’s first pitch. By the time...

Reflections on the running world: globally, locally, and in between. March 3, 2015. Hitting the Lotto, New York Style. Today is the day thousands of runners — 80,080, to be exact — have been awaiting on tenterhooks for several months. Beginning this morning, a lucky 14,326 of them will be selected in the lottery for acceptance into the 45th running of the TCS New York City Marathon, which will be run November 1. After the 2012 race was cancelled in the wake of Superstorm Sandy. Continue reading →.

What's Next?: Why?
http://snowplug.blogspot.com/2015/08/why.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. I know there is always the question of why. Both from others and to myself. Why do I want to run a 100? Why would you do that? Why am I putting myself through all this training? Why do I want to "torture" myself so? And then I read this paragraph at the end of this article. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Runner Marci: Grandma's Marathon 2015
http://runnermarci.blogspot.com/2015/07/grandmas-marathon-2015.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. It's been a month (sorry for the slow turn around on this), but it's always easier to recap a race after your decompress a bit. Especially after a full marathon your brain has been zapped of all and any problem solving abilities and extra energy. The entire experience needs to be hashed out before you can put together the good, the bad and the ugly. Foam rolling and relaxing in PDX for a few hours. A shake out run followed by a pleasant drive over Mt Hood turned out to be a wonderf...
