Today I drove up to the Atmospheric Observatory on the side of Mauna Loa (the astronomical observatories are on Mauna Kea across the saddle). I parked outside the gates of the observatory at 11,000 feet asl. and took this picture before setting out on a short exploratory hike . . . Mauna Loa Observatory (MLO). Anyway . . . that was my day!
