Duration: 2 days Minimum : Maximum numbers - 2 : 6. Snow in the Great Stone Shoot. In this short course, designed for summer hillwalkers who want to extend their sport into the more demanding winter season, we will cover equipment selection, navigation, use of ice axe and crampons, avalanche awareness and snow belaying. In addition to the equipment shown in the basic list you will need:. Stiff soled boots with well fitting crampons. Windproof gloves / mitts. Spare warm clothing and extra food.

Cost: 1 person - 145 / day. 2 people - 85 per person per day. 3 people - 75 per person per day. 4 people - 65 per person per day. 5 people or more - 60 per person per day (usually a maximum of 6 in the Cuillin). Guiding can be arranged for anywhere in Scotland but this will involve a charge for the guide's travel and accommodation expenses in addition to the normal daily rate. Although, of course, it is your job to be a guide, nevertheless your patience, professionalism and cheerfulness even after nine and a half hours. was well beyond the call of duty.
