In 1717AD George Brown of Blaydon staithes. Born Ryton Woodside) circa 1692 married Isabel Thomson. One of their sons. 1720, married Catherine Miles of Winlaton in 1747. It was one of their daughters named Catherine, who gave birth to a son in 1776. She did not name the father, or claim relief from the parish. He was christened William, probably after her maternal grandfather,( William Miles) It is from this William Brown that todays family are descended.
