Gwendolyn Grey: Changing Tides and Going Places
http://idlewildgrey.blogspot.com/2015/07/changing-tides-and-going-places.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. Changing Tides and Going Places. The first thing I did after finishing my masters degree this spring was to drink nearly an entire bottle of prosecco, sleep for about twenty hours, and then dye my hair pastel pink. Instead after finding super cheap flights. If you imagined the majority of our holiday pictures were posed or serene, like this one, you'd be wrong. We mostly took a lot of terrible selfies, and it was glorious. I can't wait for you guys to see Season 2! Whats in a name?

Freitag, 5. Juli 2013. Circus of Fashion in Berlin #mbfwb. It's the season again: Fashion Week stops over in Berlin!

Madonna: just a caricature of her former self. Kim Kardeshian...

Graduation is imminent! There are only three weeks left to do ev er y thing! I was rather excited to see my fairytale wedding dress for The Girl in the Edinburgh Evening News the next day! If you're in Scotland at the end of the month you can still get tickets to the catwalk show. The girl without hands. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Saturday, May 24, 2014. American vs. British English - The sewing vocab version. As someone who transplanted from the US to the UK about nine months ago, there have been some things to which I've had to adjust. I figured that the vocabulary differences wouldn't be an issue. after all, half of my extended family lives in the UK, and everyone already knows about basic things like sweater/jumper, truck/lorry, crisps/chips, sidewalk/pavement etc. Stitch Witchery = Bondaweb. Sunday, May 18, 2014. Not far from...

Monday, January 20, 2014. Costume in the Kingdom of Bavaria: 1825. As a sort of continuation of my last post, I wanted to talk about the second super useful book which I was shown at the Trachten Informationszentrum. National Kostüme Des Königreiches Bayern. Is a reprint of a collection of prints from 1825, all of which show various styles of dress and genre scenes of everyday life across Bavaria. (naturally, it is also out of print and not easy to find.). Fig1: [1825] Kellnerinnen von München. Religious...

Gwendolyn Grey: October 2013
http://idlewildgrey.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 28, 2013. I've spent some time looking at 19th century prosthetics, as well as metalwork from the 18th and 19th centuries plus some pieces of contemporary haute couture which thematically works. I love this utterly creepy Victorian prosthetic arm. I don't believe I want to make on myself that is articulated, but I still am fascinated by this piece. Or I could do a combination of metalwork and stitchery. like these killer shoes by Alexander McQueen. The girl without hands. Which apparently...

Gwendolyn Grey: July 2015
http://idlewildgrey.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 24, 2015. What's in a name? Sometimes it seems like the hardest part of setting up an account, online shop, real-life business, getting a pet, writing a book/blog post/essay, or basically doing anything in life that requires a name or title is coming up with a name or title. There's a worry that people won't get it, or that you won't like it in a few years, or that it won't always be a proper fit. So, dear readers, I axed it. Aaand with that done and me feeling far more comfortable with my t...
