Lost in the Mist

Monday, March 28, 2016. Why I Don’t Write ******* Fiction. Several days ago I received an email from a heterosexual woman. She said she started reading Book I of my trilogy without realizing there would be ******** in it, and she almost stopped reading, but the story and the writing wouldn’t let her stop. She ended up reading the entire trilogy. Twice. This was my reply to her and it may answer some questions for some of my other readers as well:. I wrote them for everyone open-minded enough to see love ...

Lost in the Mist: January 2010

http://blog.catherinemwilson.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Wednesday, January 13, 2010. A remarkable thing happened on Christmas day. Amazon.com sold more e-books than physical books, which means there must have been a lot of Kindles under the tree. Barnes and Noble sold out of their Nook e-book reader well before Christmas and more e-readers are being announced every day. Not only that, but now you can read ebooks on other devices, like your cell phone. Link to When Women Were Warriors on Smashwords. Posted by Catherine M. Wilson at 2:33 AM. Links to this post.

Lost in the Mist: February 2010

http://blog.catherinemwilson.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 27, 2010. Amazon fails again (more about the Macmillan flap). Did it hurt Macmillan? A little bit. Did it hurt Amazon? Plenty. Did it hurt Macmillan's authors? Yes, a great deal. Here's an excellent (and quite funny) blog post on how Amazon managed to totally piss off authors and their readers once again. Amazon pisses off their customers. Here's a short quote from that post, to get you started:. Posted by Catherine M. Wilson at 4:34 PM. Links to this post. Saturday, February 6, 2010.

Lost in the Mist: Courage

http://blog.catherinemwilson.com/2012/05/courage.html

Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Here's Rant #4. You can find Rant #1, along with info about what prompted it, here:. One of the posters to the Yahoo! Group thread I was ranting on mentioned that my speaking up on that group took courage. Here is my response:. I must disagree that what I wrote took courage. I have been speaking up for people like me for a very long time. What takes courage is living as an out lesbian for over 40 years. Tyler Clementi came out to his parents moments before he left home to attend Ru...

Lost in the Mist: Last rant! Well, for the time being...

http://blog.catherinemwilson.com/2012/05/last-rant-well-for-time-being.html

Thursday, May 24, 2012. Well, for the time being. This is the last in a series of rants that began here:. In reply to someone who suggested civil unions are adequate because all gay people want is the rights that go with marriage, I wrote again about respect:. When you rush to the hospital because your beloved has been injured or taken ill, if you say, That person is my partner, or That person is my civil union person, or Drat! It is still OK to bully gay kids. Why? Are you aware that several state legis...

In the interest of full disclosure. This picture was taken in 1968, more than 40 years ago, so if you should happen to run across me in real life, don’t be disappointed that I no longer resemble the young woman you see here. I have grown old, and although not so cute on the outside, I am. Lovelier on the inside. I chose this photo. When Women Were Warriors. Me I made it from my own life and from my own experience, but I also heard a voice whispering within me that was not quite mine.

2013 Professional Photographers Association of Rhode Island Award. Published March 5th, 2013 by. Carl and I attended the 60th Annual Convention of PPARI this past weekend. We attended lectures and demonstrations by Steve Sedman, Hanson Fong and David Hakamaki. All were great speakers and we had fun and learned some new techniques. This year for the first time I decided to enter into the print competition and Im happy to say I did quite well. I received a 85 on this image! A little info about the image.

The Problem With Explaining Body Types Begins With A Bowl of Fruit. August 14, 2015. Middot; Add Comment. I for one am not a piece of fruit. There is nothing about this system of individual styling that harkens to any kind of positive message and the media doesn’t help. It is clear that beauty identity is fixed on one silhouette for far too many years and there is not a single piece of fruit on this planet that represents it! Botticelli’s Birth of Venus 1482. Have a look at how beautifully Christine Hend...

Collected inspiration from a San Francisco designer. New York Fashion Week is right around the corner, and it’s always a really exciting time to get inspired by seeing what other creative people are working on. To me, the process and the concepts that drive each collection can be just as fascinating as the realization of those abstract ideas through the clothing. Magazine puts together a great slideshow, called “One Word, One Shot,” where they ask designers to submit one image and a phrase to...New York ...

Catherine Pope - Victorian Geek - Notes from a Victorianist and Small Publisher

Catherine Pope - Victorian Geek. Notes from a Victorianist and Small Publisher. Miss Florence Marryat vs Mr Charles Dickens. March 10, 2016. It’s not often that Florence Marryat makes the national press, so this has been an exciting week. An unpublished letter from 1860 has emerged in which Charles Dickens berates Marryat for requesting advice from him. She offered a short story for inclusion in his journal. All the Year Round. Warming to his theme, Dickens goes on to say:. He could just have been having...

Wednesday, November 14, 2012. Re-igniting a passion for fashion. Paying an arm and a leg –literally! Worrying about appearing to be a school girl in uniform as I scurry past people wearing “my” dress. Lucky for us Catherine Ruze is hosting a series of Fashion Parties over the next few months. Parties aimed at re-igniting a passion for fashion, and thus reviving the excitement for fashion as both a trend and a form of entertainment here in Zimbabwe. An Artist's Birthright. My Call To Art By Catherine Tonning. ORGANIZING YOUR PALETTE, WORK SPACE AND ART SUPPLIES. Monday, September 05th, 2011 Author: Catherine Tonning-Popowich. Diagram of Catherines Acrylic Palette. The brands of acrylic paint I use are Liquitex and Golden Acrylic. I like both of their qualities and I lean toward Liquitex because the caps are larger and easier to handle. The tubes are vinyl and don’t crack like the metal paint tubes, I hate leaky tubes!
