Tumbling Tumbleweeds: notes on my movie write-ups
http://tumblingwest.blogspot.com/p/notes-on-my-movie-write-ups.html
Notes on my movie write-ups. The movies we are watching are from the 30s and 40s, so you can assume they will be of their time - both in a good way and in a bad way. Villains are villainous, ladies need saving, there's gunplay and fisticuffs. The world is pretty white, and if there is someone of color they're likely to be a cook or a porter (although not always! Monday, July 25, 2011. Music On Monday: Girls of the Golden West. They also sing about wanting to be real cowgirls (rather than cowboy's sweethearts):. And while you can't find them on too many compilations, you can find a small collection of tracks at the internet archive, ready to download. To read more about the Good sisters (and to see a full track listing), go here. 1 of you yodeled back. Monday, July 18, 2011. Music On Monday: The Gun Club. Ghost on the Highway":. Tumbling Tumbleweeds: this western town can be yours!
http://tumblingwest.blogspot.com/2012/02/this-western-town-can-be-yours.html
Wednesday, February 15, 2012. This western town can be yours! Seriously.this guy in Hoyt, Kansas built a little western town street in his back yard and he's ready to sell it (no more room and he wants to build new stuff! And it can be yours if you act fast (and you have $20,000 and can pick the whole thing up from them). What a cool idea for backyard structures. Listing here. I would totally buy this. http://tumblingwest.blogspot.com/2013/02/little-cowgirl-book-club-cowboy.html
Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Little Cowgirl Book Club: COWBOY. Every bit and bob of gear is shown and labelled. I think the Little Cowgirl was partial to the horse descriptions; I loved the fully equipped antique chuck wagon. A must-read. Check it out on Amazon. Or find it at your local library! Friday, December 13, 2013. A Life-Saver Yarn 'Notion'? Brand of solid colored regular size skein of yarn. My yarn winder is a Royal brand. You can see how nice it winds the yarn into a workable size ball. I bought mine in a specialty yarn store. And really that's the only type of store I've seen them. You generally wouldn't see ones, I don't believe, in a Jo-Ann or Hobby Lobby store. It would be great if you did then you can use your handy dandy 40% off coupon! Links to this post.
