Satirical and Cynical: The ID of Cycling. Thursday, June 16, 2011. Cracked Crank Cutting Corner. And could have creamed calf. Note: This chronologically an old post, that I am just finishing up). I generally avoid heavy alliteration, and the above is why. It can lead down an annoying black hole of sacrificing meaning and content for form and style. In other words, it can suck. But I had a story to tell about a chain ring, a cracked crank, some pedals and I just got carried away. For a variety of reasons.

The issue here is not whether Lance broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with Sheryl Crow- he did. But you can't hold a whole sport responsible for the behavior of a few juicing individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole professional cycling system? And if the whole cycling system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our sporting institutions in general?
