Electronics projects and kits. Stuff I design and build and take apart. LivingColors / LivingWhites adapter starter set part 2 : adapter. The LivingWhites adapter doesn’t really have many surprises. The only two notable things are that the entire high voltage side is from ST parts ( VIPER16. And the other surprise is the other LED not in the manual. The non surprising part is the CC2530 IEEE802.15.4 chip . The opened Philips LivingWhites plug. The rear of the board. Switch to set dimmable / non-dimmable.

At the VERON Fleamarket. A home built modular synthesizer. It’s hard to find more information, all i have found is the forum post. In dutch : translation here. The setup is similar to the Elektor Formant and Compact and the modules from Doepfer. Of course those are all inspired by the Modular Moogs. Electron...

Electronics projects and kits. Stuff I design and build and take apart. Developer and hobby boards with ARM microcontrollers. New Arduino Zero supports debugging. It addresses two issues i (and i think many other people) have with the Arduino : it is small and slow and there is no way to debug. See the blog post at : http:/ blog.arduino.cc/2014/05/15/meet-arduino-zero/. Support for debugging a running microcontroller has been available for competing developer kits for a while now :. Electronics projects and kits. Stuff I design and build and take apart. Better range for LivingColors shield. Users have reported that they would like to have a longer range. In the past I have been looking at hardware solutions for this without much success. One of my customers has found a much simpler solution : adjust the power settings in the CC2500 configuration. In the file LivingColors.cpp. Write power setting to PATABLE memory using single access write. See table 31 on page 47. Page 47, table 31.
