Wednesday, October 30, 2013. 2013 Silage Harvest: DONE. Our 2013 fall silage harvest is officially complete! We'll celebrate this accomplishment by having a full work schedule through the end of the week, tend to our regular milking/feeding chores over the weekend, and then start drilling next Spring's wheat and ryegrass crops into the ground come next week. Let's just say that adds a huge challenge to just doing our usual chores. Our frost free hydrant that gives us water in our upper barn, busted and flooded the center pen. Maddie is convinced she should be able to go shirtless as well. The pool hasn't gotten over 80 degrees much thanks to the global cooling that is going on. It still is fun for the kids.
