Three MIT Students Take Near-Space Photos On a Budget of.$150? After looking at the photos. You'd swear they were taken from a NASA spacecraft. But NASA didn't have anything to do with these images. The rig flew to a calculated altitude of 93,000 feet. The 5-hour, 20-mile journey produced stunning images that show the blackness of space and the curvature of Earth's horizon. That's right. Return-trip flights to 18 miles above the Earth's surface, with pictures, on a budget of $150. What do you think? A few...

My friend Tony and I rode our bikes to DC yesterday. It was a quick day trip of sightseeing rather than shooting pictures. So, I only took my Canon G9. As long as there's plenty of light, this little camera does a great job. What do you think? Point and .shoot. What do you think? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I have always felt an emotional connection with the visual beauty of this earth, but it wasn't until I was stationed at Pearl Harbor in 2004 that I bought my first film SLR and began a wonderful journey of capturing this awe-inspiring world. I was stationed onboard USS Los Angeles (SSN 688) and fortunately by having a great chain of command, I became the ship's official photographer, shooting images of daily life aboard a nuclear submarine. I also shot various military ceremonies and functions.
