A Jared Blog

Thursday, May 16, 2013. It has been a busy two days. Tuesday was filled with travel, including checking into the conference and picking up my Google Glass at Google's Mountain View headquarters. My impression so far is best summarized in one word, optimistic. There is a lot of potential here, but there is still a long way to go. However, at the increasing rate of technological improvement, HUD technology is only a few years away and it is going to change the world. Links to this post. The Daemon is Here.

A Jared Blog: Google I/O 2012 Predictions

http://blog.jaredhatfield.com/2012/06/google-io-2012-predictions.html

Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Google I/O 2012 Predictions. This will be my second Google I/O conference and I am very, very excited. Last year I predicted that the giveaway was going to be an Android Tablet Chrombook but I did not put it in writing. This year I am going to write down my predictions. I am obviously going to base these off of the various news and leaks. That I have seen on the internet, but here is what I think. The thing that I want the most is Project Glass. Not falling into the category of a ...

Wednesday, September 14, 2011. The Age of the Operating System. What is the biggest challenge in computing? Reality is that we are living in a world where screens come in every shape and size. The world is not divided into a 3.5 inch, 9.7 inch, and 15 inch buckets. We have screens that range in size from 2 inches all the way up to 65 inches and beyond. Links to this post. A Jared Blog: Google I/O 2012 Final Thoughts

http://blog.jaredhatfield.com/2012/06/google-io-2012-final-thoughts.html

Saturday, June 30, 2012. Google I/O 2012 Final Thoughts. This has been a long week. I have almost no energy to write this blog post, but I will do my best! It does not help that there is a major AWS outage that took down my web and database servers and I'm waiting on Amazon to resolve the issues so I can get my sites back up. The future is made of Glass. Infrastructure for the big guys. The announcement of Google Compute Engine. There were lots of improvements and updates to App Engine, but many of them ...

A Jared Blog: May 2011

http://blog.jaredhatfield.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 12, 2011. The trip was simply amazing. While the conference was only two days, we decided to make a vacation out of it by dedicating two days to travel, one day for sight seeing, and two days for the conference. Before leaving, we purchased tickets to visit Alcatraz Island. That was a good decision. We walked from our hotel to the port and then spent a few hours on the island. Links to this post. Posted by Jared Hatfield. Sunday, May 8, 2011. Getting Ready for Google IO 2011. The conference...

Jared Friedman | A blog about startups

A blog about startups. Recently, I had the rare opportunity to have a couple of months without a regular full-time job. The common thing to do with a break like that is to travel. I considered doing a round the world tour. But with Starbucks in 65 countries now, the world is flatter than ever, and it didn’t feel like I would learn that much. Two months later, I’ve gotten coffee with over 200 people. I say get coffee metaphorically. Sometimes we’d go for a walk, or out to dinner. A...One of the cool side ...

Flight of My Life

Flight of My Life. Thoughts and decisions leading up to Flight School. The past couple days have been frustrating due to our plans not working out and things seem to be turbulent. Today, I hit a low and felt lost. I decided to pray, listen to some worship music, and read my Bible. But as for me, I will look to the Lord;. I will wait for the God of my salvation;. My God will hear me. (Micah 7:7 ESV). For still the vision awaits its appointed time;. If it seems slow, wait for it;. Patience is hard, especia...
