Whispers from the geeky side. This isn’t the first time I’ve ranted about Locale related issues. It probaly won’t be the last, either. Currently my biggest gripe is with. Some of these defaults can be controlled at run time, others require JVM startup options. This is all horribly wrong. This results in all kinds of unexpected behaviour. It’s error-prone. None. Of this should be allowed to happen. Any method that assumes platform-specific magic should be deprecated. Character sets, time zones and hashes.

Gradle wasn’t really the problem, nor was JAX-RS, but putting it all together in a way that works took longer than expected. So without further ado, I present to you a simple quickstart project. Because there aren't enough idiots on the Internet already. Sun, 26 May 2013. AsciiDoc is great, but. I was recently(-ish) introduced to AsciiDoc. By a rather strange individual. Suffice to say I've pretty much fallen in love with it. It pretty much mirrors the way I type plain text documentation, but it manages to generate quite pretty HTML output. All of the advantages of plain text (I get to use Vim, version control Just Works, .), with only one downside: no previews of what I'm doing.
