End of 2nd Quarter | Inane Ramblings

http://blog.michaelmacgregor.us/2011/03/end-of-2nd-quarter

End of 2nd Quarter. March 14th, 2011 No comments. Today is the last day of my 2nd quarter in UW's MSIM program. I've managed to fall into a rhythm, which is essentially this: skim through book (sometimes), do assignments at the last minute (mostly), ad-lib presentations and discussions (always), and give up on sleep (forever). And, do it in style. The net result: 3.7 GPA. The learning comes from class discussions and the course work. That 1st Year of Grad School Nearly Ruined My Life…. End of 2nd Quarter.

That 1st Year of Grad School Nearly Ruined My Life…. June 16th, 2011 No comments. There are still days when I ponder the very same thing. I don’t have a clear definition in mind as to what I get after I graduate. It’s not going to get me promoted at work outright. It’s unlikely that I will land a job that matches exactly what I’ve been studying. I’ll be thousands of dollars in debt. Why am I doing this again? The only answer I can stand behind is that I fucking love this stuff. End of 2nd Quarter.

Are You Taking the Steps to Secure Success? There is a simple question that I ask all my clients, Are you taking the steps to secure success? It seems like a fairly simple question to answer, but it a vital question to ask yourself in all endeavors that engage. At work, are you merely working for a benefits package or are you working to guarantee the success of your work establishment so it can be generous back to you? If the answer is Yes! The answer seems obvious. In the workplace, do you speak success?

That 1st Year of Grad School Nearly Ruined My Life…. Well, not really. There were a lot of challenges I faced this past year that I didn’t anticipate. The courses were enlightening, and I thoroughly enjoyed most of it. The real challenge was time management.
