I have Black nose A3 lasee cutter from Just add sharks. It's fantastic have had so much fun with it already. Always wanting to do more with it. Trying to make a version of the strowger switch from laser cut and other parts. One of those things that I though I had to laser, because why not. Rounded cornered laser cut boxes.

I was thinking about what sort of things I could put in the laser cutter (as I do alot). And as it's Christmas theres alot of cakes around. This reminded me of someone who put a. In a laser cutter. I didn't have full cake to play with but we did have an undecorated one. So I brought up a few KG's of icing and got planing. All set to go. Setting the laser to as low as it will I did a pass and. It worked it's very faint but there is an out line. Enought of the patterence lets do a square to make it easy.

Well thats my job title, but I play in anything engineering when it's needed. What else. I hate writing. I do my best to document what I do so that others and use and learn from it, but most times I do some times I forget or don't want to. My Dad use to be a telephone engineer for BT, working on the strowger telephone exchange. He still loves then are has some old exchanges that he is restoring. Looking at the. It's just an amazing piece of engineering and the sound it makes it sweet. So I decided to make one as they are quite hard to get hold of and I don't want to break one playing around with it. So why not laser cut one? I am also working on a arduino controlled version and it would be cool to have some uni's to spin for that too.

I started my 3D printing adventer with a RepRap Pursa i2 a cute little printer. After getting hoced my the 3D printing bug I upgraded a year later to a FlashForge Creator the best printer ever. Easy to use simple to work and fix. From there I have used many kilos of material. Including: ABS, PLA, Ninja Flex and ColorFabb XT. Playing around at printing mouth pieces and makeing an open scaleing syste.

I first saw these on. For his useless boxes and they look fab. On. There was a parametric file to make then to what size you need. Great program apart from the part where it didn't work in cm and it's written in post script (very funny language). I cut a few of them out converting cm to inches before entering. But got frustrated and gave up (sounds so stupid now) I tried to fix it then but didn't understand it. I might go as far as saying I slightly get it. Now I have but the scripts back on.

3D Printed mouth pieces. I came across a parmetric model for a mouth piece on. I love parametric models you can tweak it easily to get it just right. So plastics ones. Turns out it has been done, which really helps as I was concirned about how safe plastics are next to a mouth. The standard plastics for FDM 3dprinters are ABS and PLA. ABS is used alot in products so it's slightly safe, but whats it's like next to a mouth? Next, PLA. Made from cornstach so can't be that bad right? So then what do I use?
