Dearly Loved: March 2014
http://bethanyshelton.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 20, 2014. I thought I'd share a story that I think really speaks volumes about this guy I've decided to spend my days with. If I had to describe Aaron in one word it would be servant. And I am so grateful. It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world,. He now showed them the full extent of his love. John 13:1, 3-5, 12-17. And that's where my last post stopped. But f...

Dearly Loved: June 2013
http://bethanyshelton.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 4, 2013. If I had a dollar for every time I got the question: 'So, what do you want to do? I would never have to get a job at all! I get that question over and over from well-meaning people who genuinely want to help. But nonetheless it is a question that makes me feel twitchy and nervous because I just don't have an answer. What draws me in? What gives me life and meaning and purpose? What gives me joy instead of taking joy away? And here is what I came up with:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Dearly Loved: July 2013
http://bethanyshelton.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 18, 2013. After a strange bout of homesickness, I decided to retreat to the mountains of my adolescence for a long weekend. My parents are such good parents and they spoil me like the only child I never was when I visit Roanoke. Yummy food, good conversations, fun outings, and the chance to be dependent again for a little while draws me to this place. Susan was my Young Life leader when I was in high school but our friendship has grown along with us. We went to this cute. I am looking so.

Dearly Loved: December 2012
http://bethanyshelton.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 10, 2012. This is the prayer of my heart on this gloomy day:. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,. The courage to change the things I can,. And the wisdom to know the difference. Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Long time, no see. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart" (Luke 2:19). I think God has things he wants me. To learn before I decide to use my experiences to teach someone else {astounding thought, isn't it? And whether or n...

Dearly Loved: the thrifting game
http://bethanyshelton.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-thrifting-game.html
Thursday, July 4, 2013. If you asked me, "Bethany, what are you good at? I'd probably have a self-deprecating moment of "well, I'm not very good at anything." and then a smile would cross my face and I'd correct my previous statement. "Actually, I'm really. Good at thrifting.". I was raised by a mother who loves a good thrift store, who never met a yard sale she didn't like. I was raised to wonder 'why pay full price? I say "reduce, reuse, recycle" and I love every minute of it. My advice is to go thrift...
