Friday, December 19, 2014. Mazama Ski Rodeo 10k Skate Dec 31. The views aren't bad from the course. The Methow Valley is lucky to have plenty of snow this winter. In fact it's about the only place in Washington state to have gotten (and kept) snow. The folks at Methow Trails are keeping it all groomed. And beautiful for us. Monday, February 23, 2015. First Look - Toko T18 Digital Wax Iron. The power cord exits from the side instead of the back. Toko has a new digital T-18 wax iron that they're rolling out, with commercial availability scheduled for mid-2015. I got my hands on one a bit early, and have been using it here in the shop at Ultratune, for evaluation, and thought I'd share some information and my impressions. The smooth face of the T-18. T-18 has a thick base plate. Beveled back edge. Easy to read digital display.

Sunday, October 27, 2013. Last weekend reminded me of why I fell in love with mountain biking. The WMBC. S annual Shoot the Trails event combined with the inaugural Chuckanut Enduro. Made for one of the most fun weekends I can remember. Big thanks to Val Thompson for organizing Shoot the Trails, which raised $17,000 towards the trails we ride. Our mountain bike community is unbelievable. There is certainly no place I would rather live right now than Bellingham. Of Chile, where marine fog supports life.

Friday, July 26, 2013. A vacation without bike racing. We did watch Rusty and Patrick race the HC100 in brutal 95 degree heat from a comfortable swimming hole at Lava Lake on the backside of Mt Bachelor. I also climbed the South Sister volcano. At 10,358 feet, it is the third tallest peak in Oregon. I ran as much of it as I could and made a solid speed challenge of it. The views were out of this world.
