The Blog of Eternal Disappointment. Life is disappointing. Welcome. Thank you, world. For the last week, I've been suffering from headaches. Not constantly, just the occasional one that hits hard and sticks around for far too long. On Tuesday, headache still present, I crawled in to work and immediately booked the afternoon off before any other bastard could get in there. I viewed this, quite rightly, as a WIN. Several paracetamol and then back to bed until the following morning. Wednesday - no headache.

The Blog of Eternal Disappointment. Life is disappointing. Welcome. Being at a loose end last night, I decided to write a short story. Not my preferred medium (in fact I can't remember the last time I wrote anything in the short story form) but it seemed like a good idea at the time. I'll go out on a limb and say it has a flavour of Tales Of The Unexpected about it. Anyway, in lieu of actually doing anything useful with it, I thought I'd make it available to read here, just in case anyone's interested.

Having heard that this year there was to be a repeat my only thought was that knowing my luck I would be one of those who would receive the demand for more tax. I didn’t give it any further thought as I was still exhausted after my busy last few weeks. I can only say that no matter how bad things get for me there is always a silver lining or a light at the end of the tunnel which ever you prefer. Entry filed under: family. The hours of driving will be worth it when my son graduates from whichever University he chooses. It is currently looking like his first choice will be University of East Anglia with University of Hertfordshire as his second choice.
