It was crazy hot, just like every other day recently, but I thought it might be fun to catch a couple topwater bass. I headed to the local pond, tied on my red and white topwater lure (zara spook? Wednesday, October 19, 2011. CB Cooks: Roasted Squash and Apple Soup. It's actually squash, sweet potato, carrot, parsnip, and apple soup. As the weather gets colder, and my obsession with fishing gets more difficult to satisfy out in the cold, my fall cooking season is starting in earnest. I'm not done fishing for the year, but the weather is getting nastier and nastier. I've got to start doing some activities to replace my constant fishing fix. Cooking works great! Sweet potato - I used a single big one.

I also would have added some chopped cilantro after I was done simmering, but I didn't have any. Whole cooked beans would be great too. Whatever you do, don't skip the lime juice!
