Busy Gnomes: Alice's party dress
http://busygnomes.blogspot.com/2014/03/alices-party-dress.html
Saturday, March 1, 2014. I think this month of blogging will be a year in reflection, I started this blog more as a journal, so when you miss a year, you think to yourself "I'm too far behind". In any case this month will be the highlights. This is a beautiful voile from Germany, it was in my shop but has all sold out. It has so much body for a voile. Lazy daisy stitches and sparkly beads. And of course sparkly shoes to match. March 12, 2014 at 11:00 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Busy Gnomes: April 2012
http://busygnomes.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 1, 2012. Part two, the journey so far. Alice's very first day of 4 year old kinder. So grown up and ready. Well, so much for part two coming tomorrow., but I've been feeling like a ship without a sail, asking complete strangers 'what should I do'? I'm like, 'wait a minute, you have four children to support'. Are you serious? So we left Thora, Dan smiling from ear to ear, and me, feeling totally overwhelmed about it all. The stress of moving children is never ideal, and I was very aware that...

Busy Gnomes: February 2013
http://busygnomes.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 14, 2013. This year I crazily decided I could do both birthdays on the same day. I love parties on their day, but it is a bit tricky when they share that day! Jim is 12, the last year as a child. Luckily he still very much behaves like one. I'm not at all informed about teenagers, I'm in denial. So, Alice's was over lunch time and the children left around 3pm, Jim's friends started to arrive around 3.30. Afternoon tea, followed by a game of footy. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Busy Gnomes: April 2013
http://busygnomes.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 9, 2013. When we were contemplating moving up to Thora, the big question was, how will you earn a living? Dan is a printer and has been since he went to work for his Dad at 15 years old. Dan will be 50 this year, and it was time for a change. Before we had children we thought about growing Garlic in Ballarat, but with children on their way, and a printing business to run, there was never enough time. Yes, yes, Garlic, the big Russian Garlic. Lot's of surprise's too! Life is what happens wh...

Rhubarb & Ella: Fabric
http://rhubarbandella.blogspot.com/2012/02/fabric.html
Friday, February 3, 2012. New fabric from Bloom Fabrics. I was looking for needlecord to do a dressmaking project with Little Bird (we're making a skirt! From the top: two photographs of the lovely fabric for making bookcloth (would also be great for making bags and accessories), a photo of the lovely pink/red printed needlecord which will make a fabulous short kick-pleated skirt, and a photo of the cotton bird print that's going to make the P-Js. Busy Gnomes: July 2012
http://busygnomes.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 13, 2012. Once we had arrived I got a phone call from the removalist to say that he could only get in the truck, half of the original furniture. The thing was, we had already decided to leave Ballarat fully furnished, to help with selling, and were only taking what we had in Guildford. Already regretting the decision to leave before the truck. So I said "Clothes and beds are all we really need". The next saga (joy's of moving) was the transport couldn't get up the track to our house.

Busy Gnomes: June 2012
http://busygnomes.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 30, 2012. One dog, one cat and three chooks. The chooks travelled in the trailer, we stopped every 2 hours, got them out of their boxes, made an human(child) fence and gave them water and food. They survived their 15 hour ordeal:). Scruffy our dog layed at our feet and puss puss took turns sleeping in all the children's laps. Finally we arrived in Thora. Thursday, June 28, 2012. We miss them already. It's a 15 hour trip to Thora, Alice and Jim filling in time. Can you see the rainbow:).
