Of course, being me I managed to break open the stitches on one of the incisions almost right away and had to go back to the hospital this morning. One was Haley, who I've written about before. The other was Smudge, her constant companion and cousin, two years her junior. Smudge died last night after an extremely sudden and traumatic illness.
