Good Year For The Outlaw: A Little Sadness Tonight
http://bjstone22.blogspot.com/2007/01/little-sadness-tonight.html
Good Year For The Outlaw. Monday, January 29, 2007. A Little Sadness Tonight. This blog is named after a song written by my favorite songwriter and performer, Jeffrey Steele. My buddy Dan Dermody called me tonight to tell me that Jeffrey and Stephanie's son Alex, only 13-years old, was killed Sunday in a 4-wheeler accident. I never got the pleasure to meet Alex, but if he was anything like his dad, I would have liked him very, very much. Sounds like a lot of sadness. I am sorry to hear this.

Good Year For The Outlaw. Saturday, December 30, 2006. A Clarification Is Needed. I've been hearing people call Gerry Ford "our only unelected president". Sorry, this isn't correct. One could make a case that Veeps who took over for assassinated presidents were "elected" because they were part of a ticket.I understand that. But what about 2000? Anon E. Mouse said. Bj Sez: "Bush didn't "win" the election in 2000. ". A: Yes, Bush won the election. he got the most votes in the Electoral College in 2000.

I am currently working on doing a forearm stand and cannot get into it directly as yet. These things take time. Of course, there are others who are quite good. Peoria, Illinois, United States.

Now we are ready for our demonstration that the infinite sum:. 1 - 1/2 1/3 - 1/4 1/5. - 1/(2n) 1/(2n 1). Can be rearranged to equal any number that we chose. In other words, the order of addition matters! The idea is this: choose any number in the real number system that you please. For example, choose, say "2". The start of the semester has gotten in the way of my blogging. :-) But I am in between watching football and grading exams. So, what was my duty in this case? What I ended up doing is telling the editor what I just said and made the necessary suggestions. Now, as far as grading exams: I am teaching a "calculus with precalculus" class. Basically, we go through the first semeste...

I've posted before about how many students are showing up on campus without realizing that they will need to work hard. In my mind, I blamed the "self-esteem" centered culture that seems to be prevalent in our school system. I've also talked about the "helicopter parents" in a previous post. We’ve often heard how poorly our grade school students (high school and down) stack up to those students in other countries, especially when we compare test scores. A careful look at the data paints a nuanced picture. Yes, our schools (or our schools plus parents plus students) could do better. Again, this is not to say that all is well. And, frankly, as someo...

This post isn't so much to talk about the politics of the NSA mass surveillance program as it is to demonstrate a well known statistical concept.
