bluepatch quilter

Sunday, 11 March 2018. Looking back to my last post how silly of me to suggest Spring was in the air, how wrong could I be? To be fair, here in Ayr we (whispers) had no snow! Cold, yes, but no lying snow - we are so fortunate to be sheltered by the Isle of Arran although of course other parts of Ayrshire not a million miles away suffered the snowy disruption that much of the UK did. We did for a brief moment in time share the fuel, bread and milk shortages, but really nothing too dramatic. I also worked ...

bluepatch quilter: From Virtual to Reality

http://bluepatchquilter.blogspot.com/2015/05/from-virtual-to-reality.html

Thursday, 14 May 2015. From Virtual to Reality. So, in my last post I just showed details of the super online Quilt Festival coming up later this month. Today I want to remind you all about the fabulous Festival of Quilts, "Europe's leading patchwork and quilting show". I think it might now be in its 13th or 14th year and I still remember the excitement of flying down to Birmingham for that first show and being overwhelmed by the volume of eye candy quilts to look at. To be in with a chance of winning ju...

bluepatch quilter: February 2015

http://bluepatchquilter.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Friday, 20 February 2015. Back in the New Year, Katy announced a Camera Challenge. To help hapless souls like me to make more of our cameras. Last year, I moved on from a point and shoot camera to what I believe is a bridge camera, I think somewhere between a point and shoot and a proper DSLR model. Mine is a Sony Nex C3 and my main reason for buying it was a desire to take better quilt pics. Jury is still out on that one although I think I have some pretty good people snaps. What do you think? Hopefully...

bluepatch quilter: January 2015

http://bluepatchquilter.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 27 January 2015. Well I had hoped to post a bit more frequently but life is a bit hectic and I'll need to be satisfied with as and when I can manage. Take two - not too bad so I soldiered on and got my row completed. I have also been beavering away on my class quilt, quilting the four panels that will come together QAYG style to make a double version of my Modern Sampler quilt. In an update to my last post regarding backing, I am regretting my choice of the Ikea duvet cover - it was cheap, it fe...

Quiltitis: Lo-o-o-ong time

http://suzanalmond.blogspot.com/2013/08/lo-o-o-ong-time.html

It's infectious you know! Friday, 23 August 2013. Since I found the mojo to write anything here. My life became chaotic - we've moved from the house in Devon fully into the Bedfordshire home, and have set about converting from 2 flats back to the original house. Someday it will be lovely, I'm sure but for now we're living in a building site! The hall, looking towards the front door. This was split to make two entrances insde the front door you can see here. The kitchen is almost. That'll make some space.

Quiltitis: Spare me a thought

http://suzanalmond.blogspot.com/2013/03/spare-me-thought.html

It's infectious you know! Friday, 29 March 2013. Spare me a thought. This evening - we're on the move again, back home for Easter. The reason I need some sympathy is that the house is going to be FREEZING. Because, in the hurry to leave I mis-programmed the central heating, didn't have time to sort it, so turned the whole she-bang off. It's not too cold in March after all, is it? Yes, well, then we had snow, and fog and COLD. So I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that the pipes haven't frozen!

Frankenstitchery: February 2014

http://frankenstitchery.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, 15 February 2014. First Post Of The Year. How can we be half way through February already? I've been busy getting ready for doing a talk at a local Rural with my dolls. I did it on Wednesday and I was way more nervious this time than the first time I did it a few years ago. Everyone seemed interested and loved the dolls though. I managed to get a few quick snaps this time. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. First Post Of The Year. When did that happen? All Photographs of the ...

Sew wonderful life: December 2014

http://sewonderfulife.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, 7 December 2014. Well, this proect was most definitely not on my FAL list, but I love it. My version of Jess's fabulous Christmas wreath. I downsized it and used 1.5" scraps rather than 2.5", so it's all ready to hang on the wall for Christmas now and I have managed to reduce some scraps too. I do have some FAL's to show. My little family of socks went off to their new home and were gratefully received, so that was two more ticked off the list. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Sew wonderful life: March 2015

http://sewonderfulife.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Monday, 16 March 2015. My time between blog posts seem to get longer. I have already finished a few things from my FAL list but haven't managed to blog them yet. However, here is one of them:. I got my scrappy scissors all finished. I used Katys pattern from Quilt Now and downsized. The scraps are .5" finished and the whole thing finishes at 15 X 12. I used lots of bright scraps and just straight line quilted across. It's already on my wall. Linking this up with Nicky and Leannes scraptastic Tuesday.

Sew wonderful life: January 2015

http://sewonderfulife.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, 11 January 2015. It seems crazy that we are in to a 4th year of the FAL! Once again, I am listing an unachievable list, but I live in hope. First up, my scrappy scissors. I started this over the Christmas break using Katys pattern which I downscaled to 1.5" pieces. I won this lovely fabric in a giveaway from Simply solids. Its gorgeous fabric and I want to make a cot quilt for my cousin who is due (fairly soon! My scrumptious star. Why have I not finished this yet! Linking up with Adrianne. So, m...
