Sunday, October 5, 2008. The Rise of Cloud Computing. The collaborative and social web, is based on a mixture of technologies like AJAX, XML, RSS and on and on. As most people experience it, it is also based on applications like Facebook. That use cloud computing. The Blogger engine used in this blog is another example. Critical Infrastructure Protection: January 2013
http://criticalinfrastructureprotection.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 1, 2013. We all want our children to be safe, whether at Newtown primary. And there are several easy things mentioned below, including a ban on semi-automatic rifles. That we can do as a society to safeguard them. Yet we should know that no matter what we do, there is never an absolute guarantee of safety in anything in life. Shit happens. Schools are a gun-free zone. Children were not taught how to charge a killer en masse. Teachers were not armed. God was denied access to schools.

Critical Infrastructure Protection: October 2008

Tuesday, October 21, 2008. The Red Light Incident. Few people apart from Warren Buffet. And a handful of others recognized that the financial markets were headed for a meltdown. Even so the nature of the meltdown was unanticipated. Its roots are traceable to Bretton Woods. Through the Glass-Steagall Act. And an unknowable number of rhizomes. Critical infrastructure protection like all forms of planning focuses on identifiable threats and risks to a national infrastructure. As a risk to national security.

http://criticalinfrastructureprotection.blogspot.com/2014/04/smart-mobs-renegotiate-balance-of-power.html
Thursday, April 3, 2014. Smart mobs' renegotiate the balance of power between state and society. You reap what you sow. If you ever wondered how the Ukraine riots, sowed by the USA to the tune of $5 billion. Triggered a coup that was then followed by the Russian annexation of Crimea, which in turn was followed by the West ratcheting up a new cold war. And the USA returning to a me-first space war. This article about how the USA recently tried to foment 'smart mobs' in Cuba is instructive.

Critical Infrastructure Protection: May 2013

Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Food is Dangerous to Your Health. Don't Eat the Food. Our food supply is an essential part of protecting critical national infrastructure. However protecting the "supply" is only one part of a chain of dependencies. The health and safety of citizens is inextricably linked to nutrition and safety in food. Nutrition plays a big role in this, especially the extraordinary over-use of high-fructose corn sugar (contains omega-12) in all processed foods. For example, eating fish is good...

Knowledge Management: September 2008
http://kontentsu.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 30, 2008. This blog covers a wide range of information- and knowledge-management issues and related technologies loosely covered by the terms Enterprise 2.0, Government 2.0 and their origin in Web 2.0. My background for many years has been in systems for component content-management (using XML), document management and eLearning. The real shift is in the external world. Huge tectonic plates are shifting and most of us only dimly perceive their impact. (See Shift Happens.
