I cashed £30 worth of Tesco vouchers in for £90 of Youth Hostel credit what seems a long time ago, and realising that they were due to expire at the end of May offered a 'free' night in the lakes at Eskdale to my good pals the Jones Brothers. Dr Blug presents . Sunday, 31 January 2010. New kayak Sedna in progress.updated 24th March. Here's the stage by stage progress of my new strip-build design, Sedna. I started off by purchasing 21m of clear Western Red Cedar Decking from the Deck Supply Company. And the first couple of strips along the sheerline are on. This time I'm using much wider strips, 24mm and 20mm x 5mm thick and should get it stripped far quicker than last time. The strips are shaped using a block plane to produce a rolling bevel.

Wild Places and Everything in Them. Sea mountain beach bog sky rock wood. Saturday, 9 April 2011. Every evening a blackbird sings his heart out from a roof top above our garden. His song captures my heart in a net of sweetness and steel. It is lifted high above all the noise and hastle and flies straight to heaven like a bubble of air reaching for the surface. I love that blackbird and I love his heavenly song. Gold or diamonds or virtual money in a bank cannot buy such transcient beauty. A place to run.
