Erin Mae: March 2015
http://erin-mae.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 31 March 2015. We'd set aside these two days for de-winterising Erin Mae. It wasn't our fault (I don't think! That the sky was throwing out rain and sleet and hail, and the wind, up at strong gale force, was trying to tear the curtains of the pram cover from their stitched moorings. 0 comments: click to leave one. Erin Mae: Spring is sprung
http://erin-mae.blogspot.com/2015/08/spring-is-sprung.html
Saturday, 1 August 2015. Spring is sprung, the grass is riz, I wonders where the birdies is." That's how the rhyme goes, as I recall. For those interested in language, "spring" here is both a noun and a verb, with "sprung" as a participle of the verb "to spring". Ah, what a loss I must have been to the English teacher fraternity. However, what we have here…. Meanwhile, one might be tempted to ask where spring went, let alone summer. 0 comments: click to leave one:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Erin Mae: Aireville
http://erin-mae.blogspot.com/2015/08/aireville.html
Monday, 3 August 2015. From the Grassington bus last Tuesday we'd caught a view of Aireville Park – a big recreational area in Skipton. It struck us as a pleasant place to spend an afternoon when the grandchildren are with us next week. So today we went to have a look. This section of the canal has lots of swing bridges, and the second one back from the junction leads across to the park. Less expected was a chat with Val, from Thirsk, who's been spending the day geocaching. Lunch – a visit to the l...

Erin Mae: November 2014
http://erin-mae.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Monday, 24 November 2014. Erin Mae is insured with GJW Direct – we had a recommendation when we bought her. Comprehensive cover, with one or two extras, for peace of mind. Year's quotation. I'm sure Haven are good, and if ever GJW can't match I'll be happy to transfer. But no point in moving if both product and price are pretty much the same. Mixed emotions – why aren't they offering me the best price in the first place? Why should I have to do the work to bring the price down? Thursday, 20 November 2014.

Erin Mae: December 2014
http://erin-mae.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, 28 December 2014. In fact, we don't often get the opportunity now to all be together. So it was great that number one son was able to come to Norway with us, and that newly-married number three and wife could join us yesterday. We're not actually having a picnic in the forest. That's the wall-covering and it's 10˚ under outside. What the Norwegians call "10 cold degrees". Ending up at a cabin café in the woods for hot chocolate and waffles. Yummy, even at Norwegian prices! Erin Mae: June 2015
http://erin-mae.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 30 June 2015. We'd not left enough time yesterday for a visit to the John Rylands Library, so that was our aim this morning before setting out. Of course, we're always open for distractions, and I indicated to my best beloved that we were in plenty of time, more or less as we passed the entrance to Castlefield Market. Then it was off up Deansgate to the John Rylands building – part of the Manchester University Library. My particular interest was in Papyrus. It has writing on both sides, and so w...

Erin Mae: July 2015
http://erin-mae.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, 31 July 2015. We were sneaky this morning – stole off our mooring very early to fill up at the water point and reverse back to the same place – we want to be tied up there over the weekend. I was pleased that both the new sound insulation and doing everything at tickover meant I could hardly hear Erin Mae myself, so I don't think anyone else could. And then, of course, we needed to check the quality of the coffee at the Dalesman tea rooms. Took a while to do that. In Gargrave there is a fine expa...
