Look at what I did! I finally took a break from Nettie dresses and used neoprene for a different project – a midi skirt from Vogue’s spring collection, a damn fine one at that. It’s hot in NC (sometimes) and officially spring, so I feel perfectly justified starting into my spring sewing list. Behold, Vogue pattern 1486, a design by Nicola Finetti:. That’s all I’ve got! Victory Patterns Satsuki Dress. Round two of beautiful, strong sleeves – this time featuring Victory Patterns! Let me just put it out on ...

Look at what I did! In love with) Victory Patterns Simone Dress. It’s long overdue that I share what has become one of my very favorite sewing projects. I was a little late to the sewing game with Victory Patterns. But man oh man, Kristiann is killing it. Her designs are unique and beautiful and I am ready to make more. The Simone dress definitely jumped out at me the most – I’ve also seen a few versions ( LLadybird. That are stunning. Here comes my version in all its glory…. But I also didn’t feel...

Sewaholic Belcarra Blouse | bethstitches
https://bethstitches.wordpress.com/2015/03/08/sewaholic-belcarra-blouse
Look at what I did! I am pretty ashamed that I am only just now joining the Sewaholic Patterns. Party Tasia has designed so many good patterns and I’ve had my eye on them all, but I am only just now experiencing the magic. Secretly, I did sew the Renfrew first earlier in February, but for today, behold the Belcarra blouse! I guess I sort of tried to match the chevron print at my seams, but only half heartedly. This makes me wish it was warmer outside. I purchased this fabric from the ever faithful Mood.

I’m Alive! And I’m Wearing Faux Fur! | bethstitches
https://bethstitches.wordpress.com/2015/02/16/im-alive-and-im-wearing-faux-fur
Look at what I did! And I’m Wearing Faux Fur! I have finally crawled out of my cave of laziness to share new sewing projects and bring my simple little blog into 2015. I have at least 10 new projects to get posted. While I’ve completely ignored the blogging component, January was a really productive sewing month! This post is honestly not very exciting, but at least it’s something. My boyfriend bought me a new camera for Christmas so can I get a hell yeah for quality improvement? I did make one fairly la...

duck bucket sewing: May 2016
http://duckbucket.blogspot.com/2016_05_01_archive.html
Harley, my hard-working sewing assistant. Tuesday, May 3, 2016. The last Alabama Chanin airbrushing (for a while). Sprayed the last dress panel to take on the trip. Things I learned this time around:. 1 Blotting is still crucial. 2 One part paint to three parts water is just about the right mix, I think. 3 Wiggle Weights are the best. Sunday, May 1, 2016. We're getting ready for an epic trip to Belgium and the Netherlands as part of an exchange program with my husband's school. I can't wait! 3 Same thing...

duck bucket sewing: July 2016
http://duckbucket.blogspot.com/2016_07_01_archive.html
Harley, my hard-working sewing assistant. Sunday, July 31, 2016. Put on a bird on it, v2: Maria Denmark Kirsten Kimono tee. In my never-ending quest for the perfect t-shirt, I decided to give the Kirsten Kimono. A shot. It gets a lot of love on PR - and it's free! Just realized the pattern's been updated since I first printed it years ago. Whoops.). I made a size medium using the bird-print fabric purchased from Julija's. Here it is on me:. Stand like an 18th-century fencer! Love the higher neckline.

duck bucket sewing: March 2016
http://duckbucket.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html
Harley, my hard-working sewing assistant. Tuesday, March 22, 2016. We did an overnight trip to MassMOCA. In North Adams, MA, a few weeks ago, and I fell completely, COMPLETELY in love with Sol Lewitt. I sort of vaguely remember seeing a few of his pieces at the Art Institute of Chicago as a kid, but it was neat to see such a huge retrospective. Posting some photos here as textile inspiration for down the road (not sure for what yet) - mostly so I can find them without having to dig for them. I'm thinking...

duck bucket sewing: V1510 progress, dyeing with purple basil, and other stuff
http://duckbucket.blogspot.com/2016/10/v1510-progress-dyeing-with-purple-basil.html
Harley, my hard-working sewing assistant. Sunday, October 2, 2016. V1510 progress, dyeing with purple basil, and other stuff. 1 I'm making slow progress on view A of V1510. Slow because Harley the cat is still sick (his cancer is progressing, unfortunately), and this keeps happening:. Hey Harley, want to go work on the dress? I have a better idea. How about I curl up on your chest and go to sleep? 2 I'm totally drooling over Dries van Noten spring 2017. Where can I find a giant floral print? Last weekend...

duck bucket sewing: June 2016
http://duckbucket.blogspot.com/2016_06_01_archive.html
Harley, my hard-working sewing assistant. Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Born of frustration: Alabama Chanin fingerless gloves. My dermatologist yelled at me. "You're doing a good job of protecting your face," she said, "but you have quite a bit of sun damage around your neck and shoulders, and you have got. To watch your arms and hands.". Then she zapped two not-precancerous-yet-but-they-could-be-someday things on my arms. AUGH. Enter: Alabama Chanin fingerless gloves! These are wearable muslins. I made ...
