The lodging is roomy. Nothing fancy but air-conditioned! June 29, 2015 at 2:05 PM. Bob Hostetler's boo...

Hither & Yon: Tom+Chee
http://travelsofhoss.blogspot.com/2015/07/tomchee.html
Pronounced "Tom and Chee") is a restaurant chain started just six years ago by Trew Quackenbush, Corey Ward, and their wives, Jenn and Jenny. They couldn’t afford rented space or even a food truck, so they set up an awning next to the ice-skating rink on Cincinnati’s Fountain Square in late 2009, and started serving TOMato soup and grilled CHEEse sandwiches. Get it? It's good food with a sense of humor. I liked it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome to this repository of Bob’s travels and ...

Favorite Travel Pix: Two Young Beauties. A few years ago, we traveled to our nephew's wedding in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in the company of our grandchildren Mia (left) and Calleigh (right). The two cousins were just hanging out, enjoying each other's amazingness, when someone (I can't even remember who) snapped this photo. Isn't it gorgeous? Labels: Favorite Travel Pix. Grove City College, Grove City, PA. I had the joy and honor this past week of serving on the faculty of the St. Davids Christian Writers Conference, which was held on the campus of Grove City College. In (what a strange coincidence) Grove City, Pennsylvania. I already blogged briefly ( here. About the conference. So I thought I'd post a few photos of the beautiful campus. Most of the conference took place in the Hall of Arts and Letters ("HAL"), above, and our meals (except for the Saturday night banquet...

Hither & Yon: February 2015

Writers Advance Boot Camp at the Cove, Asheville, NC. I spent last weekend at the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove. In Asheville, North Carolina, for the Writers Advance Boot Camp. Located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, this is my kind of place. My room, in the "Pilgrim Inn" (one of a couple at the Cove), was top notch, from the bed and pillows to the bent twig rocking chair in the corner (see below)- a great place to pray and read. A Night at the CSO. Our seats were in the second balcony...

Category Archives: Miscellaneous Stuff. Thirsty Foodie: 6 Reasons to Drink More Water. February 3, 2017. Water I tend to take it for granted even though I use it all the time. I drink it, wash in it, launder clothes in it, clean the dishes in it, fill the fishbowl with it, and feed it to my rabbit. That can add up to gallons and gallons of water. When it comes to feeding myself with water, I take it for granted sometimes then too. I really do need to drink more water. How about you? Your Skin Looks Better.

Tag Archives: Foodie Friday. A Foodie Produce Storage Guide. February 24, 2017. It won’t be long now. And we’ll be on our way to the farmers’ markets to buy fresh produce. That goes for people in my neck of the woods, anyway. I’m from the Midwest USA and, even though it’s still officially winter, we’re having unusually warm weather. We’re counting the days until the robins come back and the crocuses bloom. Those are signs spring is here and summer isn’t far behind. I hate rusty lettuce, don’t you? Someon...

Writing a bio for a blog always seems presumptuous to me. As if I’m so interesting and all that. I suggest simply continuing to read the posts. My personality and some of my history will be revealed. But I can tell you a few things. For instance, I. Really enjoy strong coffee. Can be a little grumpy in the morning until I’ve spent some quiet time. Am fairly good at Scrabble. Enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes. Read as if someone was going to burn all the books by next week. Address never ma...
