The sky was blue. Mount Rainier was catching the morning light. Everyone arrived with their packs and trekking poles, except Patti who “forgot” hers at home. We planted this beauty two years ago! Footloose on the trail. April 13, 2014. May 4, 2014. I walked 17 miles yesterday. It’s my second highest mileage and I feel good about it. Patti and I decided to walk to the top of Palmer Peak. It was a beautiful morning with a few clouds glowing pink in the early light. Plus, this is one of the few places where we can be challenged with a little elevation gain. 8221; I remarked that we must not be hiking on the “everywhere” trail. There are lots of trillium growing in the forest. They are so pretty.

Footloose on the trail. May 3, 2014. May 4, 2014. Total Walking Miles this past week (Monday 4/28 – Friday 5/2): 80.7 miles. Total Training Miles Today (Saturday 5/3): 16.5 miles. Debbie had to work today, so it was just Patti and I on our walk. This is Patti’s first walk in over a week, as she was visiting her brother last weekend. However, she did visit the REI store there, and bought a “Jet Boil” stove. She had it in her pack today and is carrying a bit over 14 pounds. Patti follows Bud up the road.
