You are the war that i want. Defend Reality. - i wont [censored] us over. Fri, Aug. 3rd, 2007 04:50 pm. Formerly from Youngstown, now an ex-patriot living in Austin, TX, used to be down on Ytown. But she read all the great things coming out Youngstown’s new Department of Feel Good Stuff and Public Relations and wants us all to jump into action. She’s moved away and only perceives what she reads, so I don’t blame her. I wanted to set the record straight. So I commented this:. The YBI is recognized as a st...

Synthesis and Conclusion: It Can Be Done Amigo. July 27, 2009 at 9:09 pm ( moving picture box. Let us review what we have discussed in this paper. First, we posed the question of what sort of legal significance can be reasonably extracted from narratives in the western genre. After acknowledging the difference between historical fact and fiction, we then began with an introduction into the genre’s most common setting with its accompanying conventions. Aphorisms and Ectoplasm: Remembering Gail Russell
http://somekinda.blogspot.com/2012/08/remembering-gail-russell.html
Monday, August 13, 2012. I watched an old gothic spooker called The Uninvited. The other night, and was struck by Gail Russell's beauty and naturalistic performance style. Sadly, she struggled in life with alcohol addiction, and died alone at the terribly young age of 36. Imagine if Warner Bros. or MGM had done Wondy back in the earliest days of her comic appearances - who better than Miss Russell to play the Amazonian ingénue? Click for full-length view. Aphorisms and Ectoplasm: Big Trouble in Little Britain

Monday, June 23, 2008. Big Trouble in Little Britain. When Stacie Ponder at Final Girl. Hooray, my guy won! I was finally among the political elite! As I busied myself affixing my "Food of the Gods lost. GET OVER IT" bumper stickers, however, it occured to me that the movie I thought I was voting for whilst pulling that virtual lever was actually an entirely different movie from the one rattling around in my election-addled brain. You see, Lifeforce. A team of astronauts (piloting the ill-fated shuttle "...

Monday, August 28, 2006. Sometimes my Yahoo Briefcase links work, sometimes they don't. The only stable urls I'm allowed are from my Yahoo/Geocities webspace. 15 megs is what they're giving me. How generous of them. When I signed up for Rogers Cable internet, I asked if I could beef up my webspace allotment. They said "No,. You get 100 free megs of storage in your Yahoo Briefcase account! Any files you like! How does this help me if they reset my files' destination urls every two days? So basically, my i...

Aphorisms and Ectoplasm: September 2006
http://somekinda.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 21, 2006. In celebration of the profoundly pants-wetting news that I. Won something from Buzz. And the fact that I seem to do nothing lately except watch zombie flicks and shamble around the house til dawn, I've decided (mostly for my own edification) to clear up some of the most common misapprehensions surrounding the mouldy old cinematic subgenre I think of as 'Franco-Italian necrofetishism'. Spaghetti Horror, if you like. For details, consult the handy reference tables below. Reall...

Categorically Imperative: Two Types Of Western Story. June 18, 2009 at 10:22 pm ( film critic-cisms. Ha, ha, ha, ha, post number five, post number five. Sorry this is a fairly short one, but the next is going to be the longest yet! The first strand being that of the ‘outlaw’ story, and the second strand that of the ‘town tamer’ story. On the other hand, a town tamer. Of the two, this writer feels that the former is the easier to recognize and analyze (even if perhaps overappreciated). The latter, on ...
