This is the ongoing story, as it happens, of the restoration of a 1950 Jaguar XK120 open top sports Chassis No 660295 Reg No KRU600. Bought at a house clearance auction in December 2010, its ratty appearance concealed a very straight car with wonderful provenance. It presented the perfect opportunity for me as a serial amateur restorer and is scheduled for completion mid June 2013. Remarkably, the first owner, now 87,is looking forward to being re-united with KRU600 this summer.

When I started this project in April 2011, it seemed perfectly normal to spend some time estimating how long it would take and then to extrapolate a finish / completion date. After all, that is exactly what I had done for numerous work related projects for the past twenty odd years. Start and finish dates with schedule and reminders in between. Door gap with chassis on axle stands well in from wheels. And with car back on it's wheels.
