MTB Light Stuff

Monday, September 14, 2009. The Ups and Downs of Light Building. Or, mainly the downs. Not all was lost though. As I've previoused mentioned, I'd ordered a new light which would be 90% built (I'd just have to fit the SuperSeal connectors). As ever, Mr Trout produced a knock-out bit of kit - the TroutLite XPE. Cree have moved on the LED playing field with the new XPG. It's had the serious DIY folks drooling by all accounts:. I reckon the TroutLite XPE will be a mobile daylight generator with XPGs in it.

MTB Light Stuff: February 2009

http://bodgeit.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 11, 2009. Soldering is still a pain. My triple MR11 R2 LED board turned up from Cutter, so I found a couple of hours the other night to sort out my light. As ever, soldering such small joints is fiddly and time consuming (well, for me it is! The uber-thin wires for the remote switch are still a pain but I still can't see how I'd improve them. I might try to squeeze a segment of chocolate block connector in the housing - that would give me a bigger wire to solder onto the bFlex.

Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Learning Curve - Part 1 - Batteries. Bits are starting to arrive. This morning's post has delivered a Lumicycle housing (can cap) and bar mount. I didn't realise how small the housings are until I opened the Jiffy bag, at which point I had to check what physical size MR11 bulbs actually are. Cutter have e-mailed to say the bits are on the way from Oz and I might see the bFlex from TaskLED this week. Has been a massive help via the forum on his site. I'd also been pondering why you...

MTB Light Stuff: April 2009

http://bodgeit.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 1, 2009. New stuff and understanding Cree LEDs. I've been spending more money (have to do my bit for the economy! I shelled out on a new mains powered soldering iron - leaving my gas powered iron running sounded a lot more expensive than a silent mains one (even though both cost money to run! I went for this. Antex 25w from Rapid Electronics with a couple of spare tips - 1mm and 0.5mm. I also bought some stripboard. XPE - Tiny LED that has much smaller packaging than the XPE but uses the...

Fair is the first third of Fairy Tale

Fair is the first third of Fairy Tale. Dec 24th, 2014 at 2:02 PM. I was going to post about the mythological background of the Arab horse. But we got sad news here in Delaware this week. If you saw my last post you saw the picture of the young woman sitting with her mare, and I mentioned that Delaware has a very strong Arabian community. On the 21st we lost 11 Egyptian Arabians, one mare is being cared for at New Bolton. The Farm is Yorklyn Arabians. And they had a fire. I need to be better at this.
