Amy's 23 Things

Friday, 9 April 2010. Office 2.0: Google Docs. Thursday, 8 April 2010. Monday, 22 March 2010. I have been following several tweets on Twitter but I still don't really think I am appreciating it! I'm not someone who talks the talk and I don't really feel I have an awful lot of info to share with a world of stangers. For libraries, Twitter provides another opportunity for for reader interaction but I once again I wonder whether readers really want librarians invading their social spaces. Tweet, tweet, tweet.

Amy's 23 Things: The world of social networking

http://bodleianamys23things.blogspot.com/2010/03/world-of-social-networking.html

Wednesday, 10 March 2010. The world of social networking. Communicating on Facebook does not bring anything especially novel to the way libraries are interacting with their readers- we already have websites etc which are our main ways of conveying information- but it is an additional way of reaching of them. Looking round the library now I see a lot of Facebook pages on the screens but I don’t think any of them are checking library opening times or accessing reading lists…. Tweet, tweet, tweet.

Ah, finally, something I know a lot about and am familiar with! At the Law Library, we are currently reclassifying all of our material from our own tailored law system to a well known Moys. It's bad enough when you can't get a song out of your head but when you can't get a couple of lines out - that's really annoying. Messrs Webb, Webb jnr, Busby, Mackinnon and Shaw limber up. Tea was very good - well-filled sandwiches and a plethora of porky pies, sausage rolls and eggs, followed by a heaving selection of cakes that included a quite delicious banana loaf with chocolate chips. Suitably stuffed, we waddled out to watch our opening batters work off their cake.
