Teaching Ella to Read. Books Read and Tested. Ella Reading on Her Own. Ella Reading on Her Own. January 28, 2013. The last three books Ella has read have been mostly on her own. I’m not sure what motivated this change as she didn’t appear to be driven by taking the Book Adventure tests. She did perfectly willingly, but it was obvious that hadn’t been her plan. This is quite exciting. Today she read two books on her own, back to back (. Ten Apples up on Top. My updates on the word. Enter your comment here.

Teaching Ella to Read. Books Read and Tested. February 10, 2013. I realized after my last post that I didn’t give enough emphasis to Ella’s reading on her own. That is what I envisioned her doing a long time ago. It is a HUGE deal. Just wanted to reiterate that. Ella’s Book Adventure points are at 1,800 right now. When she gets to 2,000 I am going to purchase for her the Nook game. She enjoys it a lot and there is definitely some thinking involved in that game so that is excellent. Enter your comment here.

Teaching Ella to Read. Books Read and Tested. Archive for February, 2012. Ella Refuses to Blend the Phonograms! February 24, 2012. It has been a long time since I posted last and not much has changed. Ella continues to know the phonograms, but absolutely refuses to blend them together to form words. I’ve tried many different ways to convince her to blend, but she just flat-out refuses. I’ve tried both rewards and taking things away to no avail. Was I ever wrong! The local library has agreed to host a pre...
