Stop & Read the Roses: March 2014

Monday, March 31, 2014. The Way Hallie Tells It. Lately Hanna has become really enamored with birth stories. She wants me to tell the stories of how she and her sisters were born, what I was doing, what I was eating, all the details I can remember. Then she makes me tell them again and again, ad nauseam. I was nodding my head, impressed that Hallie was remembering the story so closely to the way I always told it, almost word for word. What she said next took me by surprise. Those were things that even I ...

Stop & Read the Roses: October 2014
http://amyheatherose.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 11, 2014. 1 Mile, 31 Miles. Today was the big day. The day we've all been waiting for, for months. Anticipation and anxiety for how the day would go were at fever pitch - the runners were feeling it, the spectators were feeling it. How were we even going to get everyone where they needed to be? I am so proud of my runners. I hope to run with them next year! Hanna will be doing the pumpkin run next year. I can't even believe how big they are all getting. Devin at mile six. I definitely c...

Wednesday, September 16, 2009. OK, Mimi and Amy, Here are pictures of my visit to Amy's in September. The are all mixed up and sideways. I turned them in iphoto but they un-turned. I must have moved the curser when I was uploading because I had them on my desktop in the right order. But now they are all jumbled. I guess you can help me fix my blog on Peter's computer. Please? September 16, 2009 at 10:17 PM. Thanks for the pictures, Mom! And Amys quilt looks amazing! You and Amy sure are hott mamas! The l...

Stop & Read the Roses: February 2014
http://amyheatherose.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 28, 2014. You want to get a lot of attention? First, take a shower. Then take three really cute little girls to the mall. Next put a newborn into a Moby and prepare yourself. The hardest part will be not breaking down into a puddle of sobbing post partum tears when the strangers, with admiration in their eyes, keep telling you what a good mom you are. Try to believe them when they say this. Last week I sent this email to some people, soliciting advice. That just got peed on. I'm at a loss.

Mimi Boling = Michelle Collett: August 2014
http://mimihalley.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 10, 2014. Oh, I'm all over the place these days. So, that's me these days. Trying to balance all of those emotions and keep the house clean. While I'm discussing me, I had lots of extra emotions two weekends ago. I left my children! For the first time since Jill was born, I left my kids! Go be Mimi Boling again! And I kind of felt panicked like, "I don't even know who Mimi Boling is anymore! So much of me is being a mom and a wife that it was (at a risk of overusing the word) really weird.

Mimi Boling = Michelle Collett: Gah.
http://mimihalley.blogspot.com/2014/12/gah.html
Friday, December 19, 2014. This week, I have been experiencing what some call "all the feels." Emotions everywhere. Why? Well, because this finally happened. I have been attempting to "leave well" and follow some of the tips I read in this great article back in June when leaving still seemed so far away. ( Here is a link to the article, if you're curious; it's fantastic. Does moving ever get easier? I have moved a lot in my life, but this move is different in a few ways. First, obviously, because I'm...

Mimi Boling = Michelle Collett: Pulled Over
http://mimihalley.blogspot.com/2015/01/tomorrow-marks-three-weeks-in-our-new.html
Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Tomorrow marks three weeks in our new home. I have learned a few things in these past three weeks. I will impart that wisdom to you, because I'm generous like that. Oh my goodness—driving. That doesn't really work here. The motto here seems to be that "if it fits—well, it will fit." I thought I was driving in a one-lane street. Well, the other cars didn't get the memo. If they can squeeze next to me, they will. I'm not sure if that is going to be possible. Drivers make double...

Mimi Boling = Michelle Collett: Gordie Bug
http://mimihalley.blogspot.com/p/gordie-bug.html
Gordon Philip Collett Boling. Our little Gordie Bug has arrived and with him has come lots of nicknames. He is, of course, Gordon. But he's also Gordie Bug and Gordito and Gordoncito and Flip. Time will tell which will stick and who this sweet little boy is going to be! Of all the animals, the boy is the most unmanageable. You don't raise heroes, you raise sons. And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes, even if it's just in your own eyes. 8212;Walter M. Schirra, Sr. And I'm a Mormon!

Thursday, November 20, 2008. Bahookie (Warning: This blog may contain slang language). I don't know how it happened but last week I found myself with shingles. The next morning when i got up .wow! I had a really sharp pain and ITCH! PSS I think I am bored. Need adventure.must have adventure.pining away for adventure&...Bahookie ...
