May 29th, 2012 at 12:20 PM. I seem to have become a novice gardener in a short space of time. It started about a month ago when my cousins in Missouri sent plants to me for starting a butterfly and hummingbird garden as a memorial to my mother who passed away last November. It is a lovely thought and gesture. It is something Ive long thought would be fun to have, seeing as I love both species. I just . . . never got around to doing it. But thats not all! By getting plants now, youll double this new hobby!

Jul 24th, 2013 at 12:54 AM. A side effect of my father's chemotherapy has been blood clotting. And there are little blood clots all over his brain. He's in hospice care now. It's just a matter of time. We're going to see him day after tomorrow. Or rather, tomorrow, as it is now past midnight. Well, the waiting ended a few days ago. Aug 6th, 2013 at 3:06 AM. Dad's walking the nature trails of the great unknown, now. I've had some crying, but overall, I'm dealing with it much better than I expected. I think a large part of it is I know his practical nature would not be flattered by moping instead of getting on with things. May 31st, 2014. Hello to my LJ friends, :-). I know this may come off as kinda tacky, seeing as I post here so often . . . *embarrassed blushing* (as a good friend of mine who is in a bluegrass band always says when she posts about their gigs *shameless self promotion*) - but I want to share some news Im excited about. Many of you, when I was writing fanfiction consistently, urged me to try writing stories that would be eligible for publication. Ill post here to keep you all up to date. Thank you so much!
