The Future (Don’t Worry, It’s Not the End). May 22, 2015. May 22, 2015. I’ve already got a ton of ideas for this blog and I am excited to get to get them rolling! Of course I’d love to host a giveaway and I’ve already got some neat things lines up, nothing big, just a little something any bookworm would love to have. I’m also going to start a series of posts where I briefly talk about books from my favorites shelf. I hope you all stick around for it! Posted in: Book Life. Because “Mad Men”. You are comme...
What A Weekend – Book Beat
https://bookbeatblog.wordpress.com/2015/06/08/what-a-weekend
June 8, 2015. June 8, 2015. Festivals and events are a must in the summer. Here in Chicago, you have your food fests, art fests, and music fests, but the best of these festivals (to me anyway) are the book and literary events. This past weekend, I attended two such events: Printers Row Lit Fest and the Chicago Alternative Comics Expo (CAKE). I came across a table run by Shimer College. End up buying it. Sunday was CAKE time! This was my first venture into the expo and I had a pretty good time. There ...

About That Writing Project. June 24, 2015. June 24, 2015. So remember a couple of posts back, when I said I was sort of working on a writing project? Well, it worked out! I submitted for their open call and made the cut. This is really exciting because I get to do something I love and share it people all over the world. The book community is awesome and I’m so happy that I have the chance to do this. If it’s about books, you will find it on Book Riot! Here are links to my posts. Check them out! You are c...
Because “Mad Men” – Book Beat
https://bookbeatblog.wordpress.com/2015/05/25/because-mad-men
Because “Mad Men”. May 25, 2015. May 26, 2015. It’s been over a week since one of my all-time favorite shows has ended, and so in honor of “Mad Men,” this post will cover its greatness and its bookish-ness. I don’t follow up with shows as much as the general population does because I would rather be reading let’s be honest. “Mad Men,” however, had me hooked. I watched it every Sunday night with glee, waiting to see what was going on with all of the characters. The first is what looks like a complete list...

How to Hang a Witch – Books. Yarn. Tea.
https://booksyarntea.wordpress.com/2016/08/24/249
Books Yarn. Tea. How to Hang a Witch. August 24, 2016. August 25, 2016. Written by Adriana Mather, a 12th generation descendant of Cotton Mather, How to Hang a Witch. When I first picked up the book, I was somewhat skeptical of a descendant writing about her ancestor fictionally or not. I thought, How in the world can this story not. Then you won’t be disappointed with How to Hang a Witch. Alfred A. Knopf (2016). August 2nd, 2016. August 19th, 2016. Originally posted to Tumblr on August 21st, 2016. Aeryn...

Saving The World, One Book At A Time. April 10, 2015. I like to believe I’m passionate about literacy. I think I could go on endlessly about the changes and improvements to any individual life by learning to read. Not to mention the huge impact it has socioeconomically and, ultimately, in bringing about world peace. Ok, I’m half joking. Or maybe only a quarter joking. Literate, or even moderately. This is a travesty in the world today and one that is actually pretty easily remedied. One step at a time.
