Download the newly released 2016 Report. The BIEC conducts surveys of Publishers, Printers and Paper Manufacturers every two years. While these surveys focused primarily on the use of recycled fiber and third party certified papers, there are also questions regarding corporate policies and practice. Only aggregate results for the industry are reported, and the BIEC goes to great lengths to guarantee the confidentiality of all data gathered from survey participants. The Book Industry Environmental Council is coordinated by Green Press Initiative. And Lisa Serra of Scholastic Inc. and Bill Rojack of Midland Paper act as Co-chairs of the council. The council consists of a variety of companies and organizations in the book industry including paper manufacturers and suppliers, publishers, and printers.
