http://dragonsden64.blogspot.com/2015/08/write-edit-publish-repeat.html
A conversation about life - mine. Like life there is no theme just my odd random thoughts. Thursday, August 6, 2015. Write, Edit, Publish, Repeat. Writing has been on my mind and keeping me busy. I have five projects I'm working towards the production phase. They're all written and edited. The next steps are to enter changes on the computer, do spellcheck, read through a final time, write a summary, create a cover, and production. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Bury Oneself in a Good Book. If you su...

Dragon's Den: Book Review
http://dragonsden64.blogspot.com/p/book-review.html
A conversation about life - mine. Like life there is no theme just my odd random thoughts. I've read a lot of books over the years. Books are an amazing escape or lesson or information for me. I will tackle almost any genre or topic. I am a bit picky though about how I spend my book fund (which is minimal) but here are two books I have in my own personal library:. I got the book at work and read the first poem. I was HOOKED! This should be required reading for every single person. She references historic...

Dragon's Den: The Joy of Writing a Horoscope Column - Elizabeth Hazel
http://dragonsden64.blogspot.com/2012/03/joy-of-writing-horoscope-column.html
A conversation about life - mine. Like life there is no theme just my odd random thoughts. Friday, March 30, 2012. The Joy of Writing a Horoscope Column - Elizabeth Hazel. Horoscope columns have been around since the 1920s. They were originally a way for astrologers to make astrology more accessible to the general public, and of course, to attract new clients. Fast forward to 2012: not all horoscope columns are created equal! This isn’t a perfect science OR a perfect art! So a horoscope writer begins wit...

Dragon's Den: MIGRAINE
http://dragonsden64.blogspot.com/2011/07/migraine.html
A conversation about life - mine. Like life there is no theme just my odd random thoughts. Sunday, July 24, 2011. If you suffer from headaches you know how bad they can get. If you suffer from migraines you know they are a hundred times worse than headaches. For four days now I’ve been dealing with a migraine. I don’t take regular meds for migraines mostly because I don’t want to try new drugs. However, this week I’m nearly to the point where I’d take almost anything to get rid of this puppy. If you suff...

Dragon's Den: Writing Tasks
http://dragonsden64.blogspot.com/2015/07/writing-tasks.html
A conversation about life - mine. Like life there is no theme just my odd random thoughts. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Wayfarer 8 will be Wayfarer Freedom. I'm nearly ready for production. I have a group of short stories ready for production but I don't have a name for the book. I also have to think about a cover and name. These stories have gone to my test readers. I have to keep reminding myself it's one step at a time. I can only do one thing and keep moving forward. It's a matter of working hard,...If yo...

Dragon's Den: Rockhead
http://dragonsden64.blogspot.com/2012/01/rockhead.html
A conversation about life - mine. Like life there is no theme just my odd random thoughts. Thursday, January 5, 2012. Growing up on a farm, the spring ritual was to pick rocks. Mostly the rocks we picked were generic looking and unremarkable. We spent hours walking up and down every field keeping a sharp eye out for rocks big enough to wreak havoc on the machinery that would follow our tasks. Every now and again though there would be something beautiful that just had to find its way home. When I find a r...

Dragon's Den: June 2015
http://dragonsden64.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
A conversation about life - mine. Like life there is no theme just my odd random thoughts. Monday, June 29, 2015. While I was driving to Indiana yesterday, my daughter called to say her power came back on. I was only about a third of the way there so I turned around and came home. We took the generator back and got her money back. It's going to be a productive day even if I did sleep in and get a late start. Links to this post. Sunday, June 28, 2015. I also got two of my Wayfarer stories updated with the...

Dragon's Den: Eczema
http://dragonsden64.blogspot.com/2012/09/eczema.html
A conversation about life - mine. Like life there is no theme just my odd random thoughts. Tuesday, September 11, 2012. I’ve had eczema on my legs for over two years. If you don’t know what it is, this is a rash like skin irritation which is very itchy and painful. I’ve tried steroid cream from the doctor and lots of over-the-counter stuff to try to get rid of this. The steroid cream made my normally not very hairy legs exceedingly hairy but did give me some minor relief. We started with shampoo. My one ...

Dragon's Den: Poetry
http://dragonsden64.blogspot.com/p/poetry.html
A conversation about life - mine. Like life there is no theme just my odd random thoughts. Below are a few of my poems. Most people hear poetry and think they can’t stand it. Maybe mine will be the same to you. Here is the thing with my poetry. It is a moment in my life when I felt something strongly. It might be a time in nature that inspired words. It might be a phrase from a song or book that made me have a profound thought. It could be anything. Words swirling, overwhelming. Sadness, deep bone aching.

Dragon's Den: August 2015
http://dragonsden64.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
A conversation about life - mine. Like life there is no theme just my odd random thoughts. Sunday, August 30, 2015. Today is going to be another rest and relax day. Tomorrow starts another stressful week with lots of meetings, faculty, students, and people in and out of my office. I'll probably have more people in my office in a half a day than I did all summer. The point of today is resting. Tomorrow will be busy with training student workers, meetings and the first week of classes starting at my da...
