Late night musings of a news junky. Fragments of a wandering mind. I do not like this. This is from the New Yorker website. Even while innocently browsing, they know who I am! Thanks, Mark Z. Thanks. Late night musings of a news junky. Fragments of a wandering mind. I like lists. I also like reading. And summer is coming soon. In light of the above, I’m creating a list of books I intend to read, and will cross them out as I go along. Please comment with suggestions. Thanks! 8211; The Namesake. By Ian McEwan (amazing). Good, less amazing, fast). Shakespeare and the Culture of Paradox. So great. I love the way he plays with binaries, teaches seminars. By Jack Kerouac, thanks Kavitha! Already done pre-l...

Late night musings of a news junky. Fragments of a wandering mind. A few parting words. More commencement stuff soon. But I’m moving out of the dorm now, and I’m not sad anymore. That’s because I realized that you never lose the people you love. You keep in touch with them. You call, you e-mail, you meet up. You carry them with you and within you. I leave with that knowledge. I leave with my heart bursting with love and happiness. I do not like this. Some perspective →. May 18, 2010 at 9:21 pm. Alex S&#4...

Late night musings of a news junky. Fragments of a wandering mind. Hello, world (but I typed that in). Pardon, once more, the extended slumber here. Life has been full with new jobs, lots of writing, little sleep, and my first apartment. I intend to think up something more worthwhile to say here shortly, as I’m beginning to get into a rhythm. Until then, here’s my placeholder portfolio. If anyone is at all interested in reading my work. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Liza / Find the...

Late night musings of a news junky. Fragments of a wandering mind. I know that our mutually dependent relationship ends one week from today. However, I thought I might clear the air by mentioning that I did not appreciate approaching my dorm after submitting a 20-pager only to feel heat coming out from under the door. Indeed, when I opened it,. Something heat-generating, I wondered? Care about me because I’m about to be an alumna! And I hear you have a thing for donations…. I do not like this. →. I use t...

Where it’s at. I am the sandwich I’ve been waiting for →. October 14, 2010 · 9:38 pm. A couple of weeks ago I went on a road trip with my friends Thomas. But a trip is supposed to be a vacation from your typical conception of time, right? Only I can’t seem to leave all this behind when I go on a trip. Or for that matter, I can’t seem to properly imagine distancing myself from anything that is integral to my everyday life. Like journalism for example…. I need a vacation. Where it’s at. Newer posts →. August 10, 2010 · 11:45 am. A night with Charlie Rangel. Despite the thirteen ethics violation charges stacked up against him, it’s hard to deny the avuncular charm of 80 year-old Congressman Charlie Rangel. His gregariousness can uplift a crowd even in these tough times, as it did at an event I covered last night. Y Whatever else he’s done aside, he’ll probably throw himself a good party. Just look at that face. In any case, he’s one of my favorite characters to write about. Anyway, I cam...

Sometimes I think I’ve got it pretty good →. October 28, 2010 · 6:56 pm. I am the sandwich I’ve been waiting for. Freshly prepared Betsy sandwich. It all started a couple of days ago when my friend Phil ghcatted me to ask if I heard about this new sandwich at Hamdel, a.k.a. Hamilton Deli, a.k.a. Meghan McCain’s favorite off-campus sandwich place. Phil is a funny guy, so I thought maybe he was joking with me when he said they invented a new Betsy sandwich. Since I been gone →. May 24, 2010 · 10:08 am. Graduation, end of the line. The only one I knew was the one I worked on after school with my friend Rucha, who this past weekend graduated from college a year early. So as long as she stays pretty she’ll be fine, according to my grandma who is currently living the life at her studio apartment on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. I wonder if that’s the wise conclusion Rucha and I will come to when we’ve made it to that point. Since I been gone →. I like your blog.

July 5, 2011 · 2:42 pm. My dad emailed a picture of me that he took on his cell phone the other day. There were more than a few strange things about this photo. It looked like this:. That's me by the way. But in this case, technological failure elevated the camera’s representation of an intended image to something resembling what we call art. And I wonder, if this is an accidental Magritte, then who is the artist? My dad or the camera itself? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. On I am t...

Now that I’m a college graduate cum laude, but who’s counting, right? Sometimes they’re super insightful. I’m glad that reading is so fulfilling. It really gives me a chance to wade through my wisdom streams. I wish I looked better in that dress I tried on the other day. It would have looked great with this book I am reading. Late night musings of a news junky. Fragments of a wandering mind. I’m traveling with my family for two weeks. First stop, Rome. Here’s a letter I wrote to my grandfather, who recently learned the power of email (a big step up for a lifelong typewriting devoté). Photos tk. We did that for two hours, which gave us an incredible view and narrative of this go...

You could call this a different kind of coming-of-age novel. Or a historical novel. Or whatever Mendel's Dwarf. Is called. What a wonderful and colourful world. December 16, 2014. As it is feeling more and more like winter in London, we find ourselves going to either seasonal books (a selection of which I am working on) or really colourful ones. So to brighten up your Monday I’ve decided to review a colourful trio of books to be read with your loved ones. Is a perfect book for babies and toddlers, but it also works with early readers who are keen to try reading bits of text since the font is clear and very kid-friendly.
