Former Bookseller, Current Chick. Monday, April 25, 2011. Hear the Ghost Lights Chime. Because every story must start somewhere, Briony, of Franny Billingsley’s Chime. Starts hers with this:. If Eldric were to tell the story, he’d likely begin with himself. That’s where proper stories begin, don’t they, when the handsome stranger arrives and everything goes wrong? But this isn’t a proper story, and I’m telling you, I ought to be hanged. And that weapon happens to be the only girl who can hear them. You n...

Third Street Books - the blog: December 2011
http://thirdstreetbookstheblog.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Third Street Books - the blog. Tidbits and thoughts from your local bookseller. Friday, December 9, 2011. This whole Ditch Amazon Day has been interesting, to say the least. We have received much more publicity about it than I ever thought (booksellers like to share news, especially of bold moves against The Man). There have been some flubs. One news outlet listed the wrong store in their article. Another just listed that we are asking people to bring in proof that they bought. Wednesday, December 7, 2011.

100 Mile Diet – No Way! Tags: 100 mile diet. I’ve been thinking about the 50 or 100 mile diets a lot lately, as I sit under a blanket, looking outside at the frozen ground covered in snow and ice. We’ve been frozen over since October/November and there’s no sign that it’ll melt soon. Coconut and coconut milk. That’s just the start of it. I get it. It’s better for local farmers. The Bedside Crow
Looked at a book. July 09, 2015. On my way to the office out back. Thought, weve had that a while, Im surprised we havent sold it. It won a prize. It is highly thought of. Fussed around in the office for thirty seconds, came back out into the shop. A lady appeared in the middle of our otherwise empty shop. Asked for the book. I found it for her. It won a prize, I said. It is highly thought of. Yes, she said. I sold her the book. Sometimes the magic works like this. Posted at 12:09 PM in Bookselling.
