Melbourne Patron: January 2015
http://melbournepatron.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Always trying new and old cafes, bars, restaurants, venues and events, I love wine, coffee, writing and taking photos, and am often asked for recommendations by tourists and locals alike. Here are some of my experiences as a Melbourne Patron. Friday, 23 January 2015. I went there for the breakfast, but ended up trying the lunch. Late last year, Mighty Boy Eatery. Unfortunately, after a sleep-in, we were *too* late! Pulled lamb shoulder roti wrap. Blog post on them coming soon! I would have liked a bit mo...

They’ve changed, for better and for worse so have I, I guess. It’s so good to see them through new eyes and also above the drinking age. Hence: Chapel str, which I remember as having the best vintage going, is suddenly a wonderful playground of elaborately/joyfully named bars and eateries. It also houses the Hopetoun Tea Rooms.

Paul and Nats House Build: July 2012
http://pnhousebuild.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Paul and Nats House Build. Saturday, 28 July 2012. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. A shower is always a pleasant experience, but it's even better in a brand new ensuite! Every day when I step into the shower, it feels like I'm staying in a resort. Glossy new tiles, fresh clean grout, fluffy new towels (I had a voucher for Adairs and so felt justified to buy new towels last weekend! And nothing but the smell of my chosen soap products. Mmmm. Perhaps I'll clean the toilets last in my weekly ritual - so t...

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. There was an article describing the perfect place to take a girl on Valentine's Day - a woman responded that if a guy to took her to Bar Lourinha and ordered her oysters she would surely be his. With the day fast approaching, I. Was thinking about where to take my significant other and I thought it would be helpful to list a few suggestions categorised by girl:. For the sultry and sensual girl who wants to sit close to you while you share tapas. For the girl who you just met on...

Saturday, 31 May 2008. The cover illustration for my entry in to the Textiles Institute competition in 2nd year at RMIT Brunswick. The Grand prize was/is 4 weeks tuition and accommodation at the Paris American Academy. Probably the last time I played with gouache and pencils (I was soon after introduced to Adobe illustrator. And it's been my friend ever since). I was a finalist, but wasn't really in a position to give it my all (quite the theme for my time at Fashion School really). Buried deep was a sec...

Fat Feminist Foodie: January 2010
http://fatfeministfoodie.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Cakes and political rage. Mostly cakes, though. Sunday, 31 January 2010. Esther and I spent Survival/Invasion/Australia Day watching this video. And watching the Gilmore Girls and doing much-needed washing. My one patriotic thing (apart from ignoring this ridiculous holiday which, I think, is a fairly patriotic stance to take) was to make lamingtons because they involve coconut, jam, cake and chocolate. For the sponge (based on Nigella's Victoria Sponge recipe):. 225g soft unsalted butter. Pour into your...
